Quintal gets slammed into end boards

MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens defenseman Stephane Quintal left Tuesday's game against the Boston Bruins after getting hooked by Hal Gill and slamming awkwardly into the boards.

Early in the second period, Quintal was skating near the Canadiens' net when Gill hooked him, causing him to spin in the air and fly into the end boards. He appeared to strike his right hip on the boards and was down on the ice for several minutes before he was helped off by a teammate and a trainer.

Gill was assessed a minor penalty.
