Jordin Tootoo suspended 2 games

Nashville Predators forward Jordin Tootoo was suspended two games Tuesday for charging Sabres goalie Ryan Miller in Buffalo's 3-2 win Saturday.

Tootoo, who was assessed a major penalty for charging and game misconduct, forfeits $13,513.52 in salary, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The incident occurred at 15:54 of the second period. Tootoo crashed into Miller, knocking him out of
the net and onto the ice. The collision prompted a pileup of
players, and Miller threw several punches at Tootoo after they hit
the ice.

Miller was not assessed a penalty.

It was Miller's first start after missing eight games because of a concussion, which he suffered Nov. 12 after getting bowled over by Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic.

"He (Tootoo) is going to come hard to the net every time,"
Miller said after the game Saturday. "I got in the mix right after that. I can't sit back
and let other guys take advantage of me.

"I got right in the pileup and tried to do what I could do, which wasn't a whole lot. But I showed that I am not going to take
it."

Tootoo will miss Tuesday's game in Nashville against Phoenix and Thursday's game at Columbus.
