NEW YORK -- The NHL has fined Edmonton coach Tom Renney for his critical comments following the Oilers' 2-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.
Renney was docked $10,000 for suggesting the Oilers didn't get more calls in their favor because "maybe they need Hollywood in the playoffs," referring to the NHL.
It's been a frustrating season for Renney and the Oilers.
Edmonton (32-39-9) currently stands 14th in the Western Conference standings and will miss the NHL playoffs for the sixth straight year.
The NHL announced the fine on Tuesday.
