Roberto Luongo gets starting nod

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Roberto Luongo got the start when the Canucks hosted the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night.

The Canucks lost 3-2 in a shootout.

The Canucks were coming off an embarrassing 7-3 home loss to Anaheim in their season opener Saturday, with Vancouver starter Cory Schneider getting pulled in favor of Luongo after allowing five goals on 14 shots.

Luongo allowed two goals on 12 shots -- both by Teemu Selanne -- that gave the Ducks 6-2 and 7-3 leads.

Luongo, the Canucks' former No. 1 goalie, is on the trading block after being displaced by Schneider in last spring's playoffs.
