Knight named U.S. women's slalom, giant slalom coach

PARK CITY, Utah -- The U.S. Ski Team has promoted Chris Knight to coach for the American women's slalom and giant slalom skiers.

Knight, a native of New Zealand, has been with the U.S. team since 2003. He replaces Trevor Wagner, who resigned.

"Chris has coached at a variety of positions during his four years with us and he's always shown great leadership, great team spirit," U.S. women's head coach Patrick Riml said in a release Thursday. "He finds ways to make things happen for the women and I'm sure he'll be an outstanding head coach."
