Injured left shoulder to sideline Scheiber for rest of season

INNSBRUCK, Austria -- Austrian skier Mario Scheiber is out for the rest of the World Cup season after damaging his left shoulder in a training crash.

Scheiber sustained torn ligaments Thursday in Maria Alm and was expected to undergo surgery in a Salzburg hospital, the Austrian ski federation said.

The 25-year-old Scheiber had three top-three finishes this season but has yet to win a World Cup race.
