Webb catches Sullivan, wins Fifth Avenue Mile

NEW YORK -- Alan Webb capped a strong 2007 season by
overtaking defending champ Kevin Sullivan down the stretch to win
the Continental Airlines Fifth Avenue Mile on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Webb, who has the world's best mile time this
year, won in 3 minutes, 52.7 seconds in the New York Road Runners
event. He beat Sullivan by two-tenths of a second.

Canadian Carmen Dowma-Hussar, the 2005 winner, won the women's
race in 4:22.8. Defending champ Sara Hall was third.
