Fabian Cancellara still on course

BASEL, Switzerland -- Olympic time trial champion Fabian Cancellara says a broken collarbone won't affect his preparations for the London Games.

Cancellara crashed during the Tour of Flanders on Sunday and underwent surgery for four fractures of his right collarbone. The Swiss rider said he expects to resume training next week and skip the remaining one-day spring classics.

"Because I had planned a break after the classics anyway, my build-up toward London will not change," Cancellara said in a statement. He expects to return at the Tour of Bavaria on May 23-27.

Cancellara won the silver medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics road race. He is scheduled to compete in that event in London on July 28. The time trial is Aug. 1.
