Patrick Chan Canada's top male athlete

TORONTO -- World figure skating champ Patrick Chan has won the Lionel Conacher Award as The Canadian Press' male athlete of the year.

The 20-year-old Chan finished with 102 points in voting by sports editors and broadcasters across the country, The Canadian Press said Wednesday.

Tennis player Milos Raonic was second with 70 points, followed by UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre (66), Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto (47) and skier Erik Guay (37).
