AUSTIN, Texas -- David Boudia led two fellow Olympians after two rounds of the men's 3-meter competition at the U.S. Diving Winter Nationals on Wednesday.
Boudia, the Olympic 10-meter champion from Noblesville, Ind., totaled 961.60 points after the preliminary and semifinal rounds on the University of Texas campus. His Olympic 10-meter syncho partner, Nick McCrory of Chapel Hill, N.C., was second with 930.25. Boudia and McCrory are competing on 3-meter at nationals for the first time since 2010.
Four-time Olympian Troy Dumais of Ventura, Calif., was third at 886.40. Sam Dorman of Tempe, Ariz., who had the highest single-dive score of the day with 100.70 points on his front 4½ tuck in the semifinals, was fourth at 879.60.
Samantha Bromberg of Bexley, Ohio, led the women's 10-meter contest with 663.60 heading into Saturday's finals. Anna James of Midland, Texas, was second at 631.85 after two rounds. Katrina Young of Shoreline, Wash., was third at 603.50.
Scores for both contests carry over into Saturday's finals. Results will help determine teams for several 2014 international competitions.
The meet continues through Sunday.
