HERMOSA BEACH, Calif. -- Sean Scott and John Hyden have completed a sweep of the four 2011 Corona Light Wide Open beach volleyball tournaments by beating the Brazilian duo of Fred Souza and Rodrigo Monteiro, 21-12, 21-12 at the Hermosa Beach Pier.
Scott, of Honolulu, and Hyden, of San Diego, also won titles at Siesta Key, Fla.; Seaside Heights, N.J.; and Chicago.
In the women's final on Sunday, Kristen Batt of Venice, Fla., and Brooke Sweat of Estero, Fla., picked up their first Wide Open title by defeating Priscilla Lima of Brazil and Annett Davis of Long Beach, Calif., 21-18, 21-16.
Chase Budinger of the Houston Rockets, a high school volleyball star, and Dane Jensen lost two matches on Saturday and were eliminated.
The Wide Open tour was co-founded by volleyball great Karch Kiraly.
