Last Saturday's airing of The CITGO Bassmasters was ESPN2's highest-rated program of the day, earning a 0.47 rating, representing an average of 396,000 households. It was also the highest-rated CITGO Bassmasters program so far in 2003.
"A 0.47 rating is very strong for Saturday morning", said Gary Morgenstern, executive director, programming for ESPN Outdoors. "This is indicative of both the growing popularity of the sport and the dedication of our production crew, presenting the action and telling compelling stories from the world's premier pro fishing tour."
The program's focus was David Wharton's first major Tour victory, which came from
Toledo Bend in Louisiana.
This week's show will review last week's event from the famed fishery in Eufaula, Alabama featuring another first-time BASS winner, Edwin Evers of Oklahoma. The CITGO Bassmasters will be aired Saturday at 10:30 am ET.
