Movement in top five but 11.07-pounder still leads Toledo Bend Splash

MANY, LA. — Brett Wellman of Leesville, La., had the big fish on Day Two of the Big Bass Splash on Lake Toledo Bend.

Wellman caught a 9.97-pounder Saturday but it didn't threaten Richard Stephens of Glenmore, La., who still holds the big fish, an 11.07-pound bass, caught early on Friday.

Wellman knocked Bill Gatwood of Hattiesburg, Miss., and his 9.71-pounder into third. Jason thomasee of Alexandria, La., had a 9.55-pound bass on Saturday to bump an angler out of the top five and take fourth overall, and Allen King of New Boston, Texas, knocked out another with his 9.34-pounder and sits in fifth.

Thomasee weighed his in early to win the 7-8 a.m. $1,000 bonus, while King won the 10-11 bonus. Wellman brought his in in the final hour of weighing, winning the 1-2 p.m. bonus.
