Skirvin is employed full-time making Brawny Paper Towels; everyone in town thinks he should be the Brawny Man. On the side, he working toward completing his master's degree in education, hoping to eventually teach, coach football and start a high school timber team.
He climbs a favorite tree he found in the woods, lifts weights and runs five days a week.

He has a B.A. in art and is an awesome potter. His two children, Warren (age 11), and Allen (age 7), are both involved in timber sports. Skirvin has been running chainsaws since age 10, but just took up climbing two years ago. His father was a world champion in the Hot Saw event.
