This week on The New American Sportsman

Sunday November 26, 2006

11:00 a.m. — As Director of the Women's Shooting Sports Foundation, former Olympiad, Shari LeGate introduced 30,000 women to the shooting sports. This week, she shows why the sport of wing shooting has become her greatest shooting passion. She and host Tom Ackerman journey to the Highland Hills Ranch in Condon, Oregon. Situated on 3000 acres of rolling hills, rimrock canyons, creek-fed bottomlands and open grassland, this is the perfect habitat for native upland birds.

About The New American Sportsman

In the early 1970's, The American Sportsman Presented by Yamaha introduced millions of Americans to all that was possible in the outdoors. For 15 years, that groundbreaking television series entertained and informed viewers by showcasing some of the day's biggest names in some of the most exotic locations in the world. Today, the spirit of the original series returns to television. The New American Sportsman, with host Tom Ackerman, celebrates the American experience with some of the biggest newsmakers of the day.

Join Coach Knight for striper fishing in Maine, scale Alaska's peaks in search of brown bear with Hershel Walker, wet a line with Craig T. Nelson on Idaho's Snake River, hit the Keys with actor, James Avery, climb into the blind with World Series MVP, Josh Beckett and more. Ten great adventures wait this season, all with a man who's spent a lifetime in the outdoors. Tom Ackerman is a registered Maine guide, an accomplished fly fisherman, wing shooter and big game hunter with a natural curiosity about people and their outdoor experience.

And join Greta Gaines for "Instant Access," a look at the outdoor experience of today's generation. So get ready to see some of your favorite celebrities away from the spotlight and out in the elements. The story of The New American Sportsman is just beginning.
