Page 2's Power Poll dares to rate the teams that are currently wielding the most power in the entire sports universe.

Each week, our poll will rank the 10 teams at the top of the power heap -- and the five teams that have lost the most power in the past week. And, by the way, Page 2 uses its own definition for a "team" -- any group of two or more bonded together for the common purpose.

Our Momentum Meter also predicts the direction these teams will be heading in future weeks (see the bottom of the page for a full explanation).

If you've got anything to say about our Top 10 or our Bottom 5, click here to comment -- or forever hold your peace.

1. Arizona Diamondbacks Arizona Diamondbacks It wasn't easy, but the Wicked Witch of the East is dead ...

2. Yankee Haters Yankee haters ... and in the most painful way imaginable.

3. Chicago Bears Chicago Bears Tied for the best record in the NFL at 6-1 (with the Rams and the Raiders) after scoring two TDs against the Browns in the final 28 seconds of regulation then winning it in OT on an interception return. Team of destiny, anyone?

4. Nebraska football Nebraska Cornhuskers Now all the 'Huskers have to do is beat Oklahoma once more ... or maybe twice.

5. L.A. Lakers Los Angeles Lakers This year, they might go undefeated ... not just in the playoffs, but in the regular season.

6. New York Islanders New York Islanders Still have the best record in the NHL. What were the odds against that?

7. Oakland Raiders Oakland Raiders The Silver-and-Black -- best record in the AFC at 6-1 -- knocked off arch-rival Denver, after dropping 11 of 12 during Mike Shanahan's reign of terror.

8. Aging Multiple Cy Young Award Winners with Suspect Postseason Reps Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson Roger Clemens was great (he's now 3-0 lifetime in the World Series with an ERA of well under 1.50), and the Unit was even better.

9. Miami football Miami Hurricanes Finally getting some respect, 'Canes moved up to No. 2 in BCS. Now, all they have to do to stay there is beat B.C., Syracuse, Washington and Virginia Tech.

10. African Marathoners African Marathoners Tesfaye Jifar of Ethiopia and Margaret Okayo of Kenya set course records in the most emotional New York City marathon ever.

3. Virginia Tech football Virginia Tech Two weeks ago, the Hokies were undefeated and ranked in the Top 5. Now, after their second straight loss (38-7 to Pittsburgh), they're the Jokies.
