Ryan Truex cleared to race Sunday

Ryan Truex, who suffered a concussion in a practice crash for the Aug. 16 Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway, has been cleared to race Sunday in Bristol, his BK Racing team announced Thursday.

Truex, 22, hit the wall head-on while exiting a turn, and the front of his car was severely damaged. He was examined at the track's infield care center and transported to the hospital after complaining of a headache and collarbone pain. CT scans of his head, neck, chest and abdomen were all negative.

J.J. Yeley substituted for Truex and finished 30th in last Sunday's race.
