Miller Lite cuts back on Brad Keselowski sponsorship

NASCAR

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Miller Lite will continue one of the longest relationships in NASCAR, albeit on a smaller scale, starting in 2018.

The beer company, which has sponsored drivers at Team Penske since 1991, starting with Rusty Wallace, announced it would remain a primary sponsor for Brad Keselowski but will reduce the number of races it will be on the hood, from 24 to 11.

"The Team Penske partnership is one of the longest in MillerCoors' history, and it continues to be one that gives us a lot of pride," said Adam Dettman, director of sports and entertainment at MillerCoors.

Penske will replace 10 of those races with Discount Tire, which has sponsored Keselowski and other Penske drivers in the Xfinity Series. It sponsored Keselowski in 2010, when he won the Xfinity Series title.

Keselowski, the 2012 NASCAR Cup champion, is third in the Cup standings this year.

"Our partnership with Team Penske has been incredibly successful during an exciting time for our company," said Discount Tire chairman Bruce T. Halle. "Roger [Penske] and his team have been wonderful to work with, and of course, all of the wins and championships are fantastic."
