Force family dominates Funny Car

Before every event of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, ESPN analyst Mike Dunn will rank the top five drivers -- and riders on weekends the Pro Stock Motorcycle crew competes -- in each class. Up this week? The O'Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 Nationals in Joliet, Ill.

Top Fuel

1. Doug Kalitta
2. Spencer Massey
3. Shawn Langdon
4. Tony Schumacher
5. Bob Vandergriff

I put Kalitta at the top because I think it is time for him to get a win. He has been great in qualifying and good on race day. He has won twice in Chicago and made the quickest quarter-mile pass here in in 2004, so he has some history.

Funny Car

1. John Force
2. Courtney Force
3. Matt Hagan
4. Ron Capps
5. Tim Wilkerson

Last week, the numbers said Courtney should be No. 2 even though she had not been getting round wins. Those numbers did not let me down (for once), so nothing changes at the top. Capps' car has been getting better, and Wilkerson is coming to his home track with some mojo after that 4.09 first-round pass in Epping.

Pro Stock

1. Mike Edwards
2. Allen Johnson
3. Erica Enders-Stevens
4. Shane Gray
5. Jeg Coughlin

Once again Edwards is first. It still seems no one can beat him unless he makes a mistake. I do like Erica's chances as she made her first final here in 2005 and got her first win here last year. Good karma!

Pro Stock Motorcycle

1. Michael Ray
2. John Hall
3. L.E. Tonglet
4. Adam Arana
5. Hector Arana Jr.

Hall and Adam Arana are in the rankings after strong showings in Epping. L.E. makes it based on his record in Chicago (11-1), which includes two wins and a runner-up finish in his three appearances at this track. The kid loves this place!
