LAS VEGAS -- Kyle Busch said Friday he might change his plans and try to run the entire Nationwide Series schedule this season.
"There's some thought about it," Busch said. "We'll see. I think the possibility is there, but I'm not going to do whatever it takes to get practice in the Nationwide car. I'm going to worry about the Cup stuff and show up to race the Nationwide car."
Busch, who leads the Cup standings, ranks second in the Nationwide standings and second in the Craftsman Truck Series standings. He will not run the entire truck schedule.
Tony Stewart leads the Nationwide standings after the first two races, but he will not run the entire schedule. Busch said they would re-evaluate his schedule after the Nationwide race at Atlanta next weekend.
"I believe Tony is going to skip that Atlanta race," Busch said. "So we'll probably be the [Nationwide] points leader coming out of that if everything goes right this weekend. Then we'll decide if we want to go to Mexico City or not.
"Right now, it's not on our list, but guys are calling to get a ride in our No. 20 car for that race, so I might be stealing somebody's ride."
Cars for Johnson, Earnhardt, Kenseth Sent Back Through Inspection
The Cup cars of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth were forced to go through the inspection line twice after NASCAR officials found minor violations on their cars. NASCAR officials said the problems were not serious, but the crews of the No. 88 Chevy, the No. 48 Chevy and the No. 17 Ford were told to correct the problems and go back through the line. All three cars were on the track for the first practice session. Terry Blount covers motorsports for ESPN.com. He can be reached at terry@blountspeak.com.Biffle Wants More Talent To Stay
