BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. -- Defending series champion Ryan Dungey won the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships' inaugural Tennessee National on Saturday, finishing third in the first 450 Class moto and winning the second at Muddy Creek Raceway.
"It's good to get the first win so early in the season," said Dungey, the Red Bull KTM rider from Belle Plaine, Minn. "It was definitely a hard-fought win today. The track was rough and there were a lot of tough guys out there, but I think the key is just going to be consistency this season."
Ryan Villopoto won the first moto to run his season-opening moto winning streak to five, but the Monster Energy Kawasaki star followed with a fourth-place finish in the second moto to drop to third overall.
Team Honda Muscle Milk's Justin Barcia was second overall after two runner-up finishes.
Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin won the 250 Class. The French rider finished second in each moto.
Red Bull KTM's Ken Roczen won the first moto, and GEICO Honda's Eli Tomac took the second. Tomac, fourth in the first moto, was second overall.
