Top 100 guard picks Virgnia

Top 100 guard Sean Singletary, a Class 2004 prospect from Philadelphia-Penn Charter, Pa., has committed to Virginia over Indiana, Kansas and Ohio State, among others.

Class 2005 forward Kevin Swinton (6-7 230) of Greensboro-Dudley, NC., has chosen Wake Forest.

Oklahoma State has pledged Class 2004 guard Neiman Owens of Houston-Channelview, Tex.

Top 100 forward Kris Humphries, a Class 2003 prospect from Minnetonka-Hopkins, Minn., who received a release from his signed letter to Duke, has met with Minnesota coach Dan Monson and visited both Indiana and Iowa State. Humphries, who has made an appeal to gain eligibility for next season following his release, averaged 25.5 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals and 2.5 blocks as a senior. Humphries was named Mr. Basketball in Minnesota and to the Parade and McDonald's All American teams.

Georgia State has signed Class 2003 forward Sylvester Morgan Atlanta Metro CC, Ga.

Long Island has signed five Class 2003 prospects, including guard/forward Trevoy Chambers of Paterson-Don Bosco Prep, NJ; forward Eugene Kotorobai of Richmond Hill-Markham/Chelshire Academy, Ont; forward Chris Barksdale of Friendswood-Clear Brook, Tex; guard James Williams of DeSoto, Tex; and guard Evan Meekins of East Providence, RI/Proctor Academy, NH.

Fordham has signed Class 2003 forward Dominic Osei of Brooklyn-Lincoln, NY., who averaged 13.9 points and 10.6 rebounds as a senior.

Sophomore forward Eric King of Brooklyn-Lincoln, NY., who started 35 games over two seasons for St. John's, has transfered to Tennessee State. Also headed for the Tigers are center/forward Rod Flowers of Huntsville-Butler, Ala., who is transfering from Cincinnati; guard Bruce Price of Minneapolis-South, Minn/Bridgton Academy, Maine, who originally committed to St. John's as a prep; guard Orlando Wright of Largo-Riverdale Baptist, Md; and forward Courtney Bohannon of Memphis-Hamilton, Tenn.

Florida State leads the 2003 Top Classes. Due to late signings and entries in the NBA Draft, final rankings will be determined in late June.

Class 2003:
Over 1100 Class 2003 prospects have made commitments or signed scholarship papers. Signings and commitments by conferences. The early period ran Nov. 13-20 and the late period was Apr. 16-May 15. Although the period for signing letters-of-intent which binds both parties has ended, players may still sign letters-of-agreement, which binds the school and not the athlete.

Florida State leads the Late Signing Period 2003 Top Classes. Final rankings in late June.

2002 NBA Draft:
The NBA selected only one high school and a single junior college prospect: Center/forward Amare Stoudemire of Orlando-Cypress Creek, Fla., was taken 9th in the first round by Phoenix, while Portland took forward Qyntel Woods of Northeast Mississippi CC, Miss., at No. 21 in the first round. The NBA passed on three other high school/prep school prospects and seven JC players (List).

2003 McDonald's All-American Game
