Bearcats land top 100 forward

Top 100 forward Roy Bright of Durham-Mt. Zion Academy, NC, has committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats over Miami-Florida, Tennessee and Iowa State. Bright is the second player to commit to UC, joining guard Vincent Banks of Atlanta, Ga/Laurinburg Institute, NC.

Center Chris Miles of Provo-Timpview, Utah, pledged to the BYU Cougars over Gonzaga, Utah State and Utah. The Cougars recently gained one of the West Coast's top guards in Lee Cummard of Mesa, Ariz., over Arizona State and UCLA. He also considered Oregon and Oregon State.

Eighty-three prospects on the early Class 2004 Top 100 have already made commitments. List of remaining Top 100 Prospects.

Texas, Indiana and Louisville lead the early 2004 Top Classes. Florida State led the 2003 Top Classes.

Wyoming gained forward Derek Wabbington of Phoenix-Washington, Ariz/Northeastern Colorado CC., over Boise State. The Cowboys recently pledged forward Chris Anderson of Layton, Utah/College of Eastern Utah, Utah.

Guard Paul Delaney of Decatur-Chamblee, Ga., has committed to Alabama-Birmingham over Marshall and Hampton.

Forward Chris Fuller of Laurinburg Institute, NC., committed to Loyola-Chicago.

Ohio gained forward Leon Williams of Baltimore-Cardinal Gibbons, Md.

Hawaii has a commitment from junior college forward/center Matt Gipson of Burkburnett, Tex/Oklahoma/North Idaho CC, Idaho. He played in 18 games for the Sooners.

Yale gained guard Erik Flato of Piedmont, Cal., over interest from UC-Santa Barbara, UC-Davis, Santa Clara and Stanford.

Texas-Pan American gained forward Zach Trader of LaPorte, Tex., over Lamar and Albany.

Forward Calvin Payton of Moss Pointe, Miss., has committed to Southeastern Louisiana.

Butler pledged forward Brandon Polk of Wichita, Kan/Redlands CC, Okla.

Guard Dwayne Foreman of Laurinburg Institute, NC., has committed to Georgia Southern.

Long Island gained guard/foward Albert Forbes of Bronx-All Hallows, NY.

Maryland-Baltimore County pledged forward Brian Hodges of Forestville-Bishop McNamara, Md.

Vermont pledged forward Josh Duell of Scotia-Christian Brothers Academy, NY., over interest from American, Canisius and Siena. The Catamounts recently gained forward Ryan Schneider of Shrub Oak-Lakeland, NY., over interest from New Hampshire, Colgate and Canisius.

Canisius pledged center/forward Rigoberto Sargeant of Stroudsburg, Pa.

Navy has pledged guard Charles McKnight of Southern Pines-Pinecrest, NC.
