Another Tuiasosopo headed for Seattle

Top 150 quarterback Matt Tuiasosopo of Woodinville, Wash., has committed to Washington over UCLA, USC, Nebraska, Stanford and Washington State, among others. He is the younger brother of former Husky and current Raider quarterback, Marques Tuiasosopo. The Huskies also gained Jasper Henry of Los Angeles-Dorsey, Cal., plus defensive backs Dashon Goldson of Harbor City-Narbonne, Cal/Coffeyville CC, Kan; and Mesphin Forrester of Venice, Cal.

Rory Nicol, a Top 150 tight end from Beaver-Area, Pa., is headed to Ohio State over Florida, Pittsburgh and Georgia Tech. The Buckeyes recently gained linebacker Brandon Smith of Eculid, Ohio, over West Virginia, Cincinnati and UConn.

Michigan has pledged tight end/defensive lineman Mike Massey of Cleveland-St. Ignatius, Ohio, over Ohio State and Boston College, among others; and linebacker Chris Graham of Indianapolis-Warren Central, Ind., over Purdue, Tennessee, Indiana and Kentucky, among others.

Notre Dame has pledged defensive lineman Ronald Talley of Detroit-Renaissance, Mich., over Iowa, Michigan State, Louisville, Indiana and Wisconsin.

Big Ten Verbal List
Receiver Fabian Martin of Chicago-Prosser, Ill., decommitted from Illinois for Purdue. The Boilermakers recently gained receiver Bruce Gordon of Naples, Fla/Dodge City CC, Kan.

Illinois has a pledge from defensive back Charles Bailey of Fort Wayne-Northrop, Ind. The Illini recently gained offensive linemen Ryan McDonald of Holland-West Ottawa, Mich; and Tony Sparkman of Plymouth-Wayzata, Minn.

Tight end Sam Scroggins of St. Louis-McCluer North, Mo., has committed to Minnesota over Georgia Tech, Indiana and Kansas. The Gophers recently added quarterback Andre Sloan El of Philadelphia-Roman Catholic, Pa; quarterback David Wess of Whitehall, Ohio; punter Justin Kucek of Canfield, Ohio; and linebacker Leland Jones of Atlanta-Douglass, Ga.

Indiana has a pledge from defensive lineman/linebacker Ryan Marando of Lakewood-St. Edward, Ohio.

Texas Tech has pledged defensive lineman Brett Bishofberger of Butte CC, Cal.

Defensive back Quincy Butler of San Antonio-Roosevelt, Tex/Tyler CC, Tex., decommitted from Missouri for TCU. Missouri recently added defensive lineman George Lane of Arlington, Tex/College of the Siskiyous, Cal., over Iowa State, California, Baylor, Oregon and San Jose State.

Big East Verbal List
Boston College has a commitment from offensive lineman Cliff Ramsey of Loveland, Ohio, over interest from Pittsburgh, Miami-Ohio and Bowling Green.

Syracuse has signed offensive lineman Kurt Falke of Blinn CC, Tex. Falke earlier spent two years at Duke. The Orangemen also gained pledges from defensive linemen Nick Santiago of Utica-Proctor, NY; and Mike Sklarosky of Lackawanna CC, Pa.

Virginia Tech pledged receiver Jeremy Gilchrist of Virginia Beach-Landstown, Va., over Colorado and Kent State. The Hokies recently gained defensive lineman Mike Mangold of Merritt Island, Fla., over Florida, Miami-Florida, North Carolina State and Tennessee; running back/defensive back Brandon Ore of Chesapeake-Indian River, Va; and offensive/defensive lineman Ryan Shuman of Fork Union MA, Va.

ACC Verbal List
North Carolina State has signed offensive lineman Merci Falaise of Georgia Military College, Ga. The Wolfpack recently gained defensive lineman John Bedics of Bethlehem-Catholic, Pa., over an offer from UConn.

Quarterback Taylor Bennett of Ballwin-Lafayette, Mo., decommitted from Georgia Tech for Boise State. The Yellow Jackets recently gained defensive lineman David Brown of Madison-Bob Jones, Ala., over Alabama, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Georgia, among others.

SEC Verbal List
South Carolina signed defensive back Jonathan Joseph of Coffeyville CC, Kan., over such schools as Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Kentucky has defensive lineman B. Jay Parsons of Irvine-Woodbridge, Cal/Saddleback CC, Cal; and receiver Scott Mitchell of Mt. San Antonio CC, Cal., over Arizona State, Oregon State, Texas A&M and San Diego State. The Wildcats recently pledged athlete Shomari Moore of Camden, NJ; defensive back Jarrell Williams of Cincinnati-Princeton, Ohio, over Illinois and Wisconsin; and defensive lineman Cedric Koger of Okeechobee, Fla/Dodge City CC, Kan.

Conf-USA Verbal List
Defensive back Quincy Butler of San Antonio-Roosevelt, Tex/Tyler CC, Tex., decommitted from Missouri for TCU. He also considered Tennessee, Texas A&M, TCU, Iowa, Kansas and Syracuse, among others. TCU recently gained tight end Brent Hecht of Bern, Kan/Butler County CC, Kan., over East Carolina.

Tulane has pledged defensive back Joseph Goosby of Houston-Jersey Village, Tex. The Green Wave recently added offensive lineman Michael Parenton of Thibodaux-White, La.

Bowling Green pledged linebacker/defensive lineman Joe Schaefer of Cleveland-Benedictine, Ohio. The Falcons recently gained defensive back Scott Goodwin of Mentor, Ohio.

Boise State has quarterback Taylor Bennett of Ballwin-Lafayette, Mo., who decommitted from Georgia Tech.

Pac-10 Verbal List
The UCLA Bruins signed defensive lineman Kyle Morgan of San Francisco-Galileo, Cal/Miami-Florida/Pearl River CC, Miss., over Alabama; and have a pledge from quarterback David Koral of Malibu-Pacific Palisades, Cal/Vanderbilt/Santa Monica CC, Cal/Florida State/Santa Monica CC, Cal., over BYU, Illinois, UNLV and Hawaii. Koral set state and national records at Palisades, including four 500-yard passing games as a senior. He had 764 yards and seven touchdowns in one game, and threw for 4,007 yards and 44 touchdowns his final year. The Bruins recently gained tight end Matt Raney of Phoenix CC, Ariz., over Arizona State, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Temple and East Carolina.

California pledged offensive lineman Alatini Malu of Long Beach CC, Cal; and defensive back Bernard Hicks of Fresno-Edison, Cal., who decommitted from Washington State.

Oregon pledged defensive back Patrick Chung of Rancho Cucamonga, Cal.

San Diego State pledged quarterback Darren Mougey of Scottsdale-Chaparral, Ariz., over interest from Utah, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Penn State and Arizona. The Aztecs recently gained 6-10 offensive lineman Rob Nelson of Mesa-Skyline, Ariz/Scottsdale CC, Ariz; defensive lineman George Fifita of Van Nuys-Birmingham, Cal; running back Reggie Ross of San Diego-Mira Mesa, Cal; defensive lineman Brian Wilson of Lancaster-Paraclete, Cal; and offensive lineman Eric Rouser of Ventura-St. Bonaventure, Cal.

Colorado State signed linebacker Chris Davis of Moorpark CC, Cal., over interest from Michigan State, Oregon State, BYU and Hawaii. The Rams recently gained offensive lineman Dan Gury and defensive lineman/athlete Chris Kawulok, both from Louisville-Monarch, Colo.

New Mexico signed defensive back Kenneth West of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M; and pledged receiver Chris Brawley of Leighton-Colbert County, Ala/Northeast Mississippi CC, Miss.

BYU has signed linebacker Justin Luettgerodt of Foothill CC, Cal. The Cougars pledged defensive back Turmarian Moreland of Los Angeles Valley CC, Cal., over interest from Syracuse, Kansas and Hawaii; and receiver Riley Weber of Glendale CC, Ariz.
