The speculation this week about me going back to Indy-car racing -- well, maybe for the Indianapolis 500, but that's it. That's what I'd like, to go back and race the Indianapolis 500 and do the double that day, but the schedule would have to change.
As far as I know, I still have a job driving in the Sprint Cup Series next year. I'm going to stick with this. I didn't step out of Indy-car racing just because. I'm here trying to be competitive. If something went wrong, and I wasn't producing and they felt like they needed someone else in the car, then that's what would happen.
But I'm not going to give up if things aren't going well. That's not how I am. And for the record, I haven't been in an Indy car since Chicago last year.
I've been frustrated the past four weeks, really even going back to New Hampshire. I feel like we have the ability, and there's no reason why we should be outside the top 20, but we haven't been in the top 20.
We had a pretty good run last week at Texas. We made some good changes and got up to ninth, but we got hit and I became incredibly loose. We got two laps down, and it's almost impossible at that point to get the Lucky Dog. But at least I didn't get dumped when I was riding in the top five. I saw the replay of David Gilliland and Juan Pablo Montoya, and that was a pretty decent hit Montoya took.
