DOVER, Del. -- Next season's driver lineup for the No. 5 NASCAR Busch Series entry will include a revolving door of Nextel Cup superstars, including Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson, sources close to Hendrick Motorsports confirmed Friday.
Mark Martin, who has driven two races for HMS in the No. 5 this season and is slated for a third, is also a possibility, sources said.
Young Landon Cassill will run the majority of the events.
Earnhardt is slated to run seven Busch Series events in 2008, his sister and business manager Kelley Earnhardt Elledge said earlier in the week. Elledge did not specify which races he would run.
That leaves Johnson's typical allotment of two or three events, likely at his home track in Fontana, Calif., and the Lowe's-sponsored venue in Concord, N.C. He has run Lowe's every year since 2004 and run California in each of the past three seasons.
