Nani scores winner for Orlando in 7-goal thriller (2:18)

Nani scored twice in Orlando's pulsating 4-3 win over Colorado sealing his new club's first home win of the season. (2:18)

Midfielder Nani scored two goals, one via penalty kick in the 89th minute, to give host Orlando City a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rapids during a rainy Saturday night in central Florida.

Colorado defender Axel Sjoberg was flagged for a hand ball in the box to set up the decisive goal. Nani easily slid the penalty kick into the right corner of the goal after Rapids goalkeeper Tim Howard darted in the other direction.

Forwards Tesho Akindele and Chris Mueller also scored goals for the Lions (2-2-2, 8 points).

Forward Kei Kamara and midfielders Nicolas Mezquida and Cole Bassett scored goals for the Rapids (0-4-2, 2 points).

Kamara's goal was his 115th, moving him into sole possession of fifth place in MLS history. He was tied with Ante Razov (1996-2008).

The start of the second half was delayed for 60 minutes due to inclement weather and lightning in the area.

Bassett was on the right flank when he received a pass from forward Benny Feilhaber in the 71st minute. He maneuvered to the side of a defender to create some room and unleashed a left-footed blast that easily sailed past Lions goalkeeper Brian Rowe to give Colorado a 3-2 lead.

Orlando City notched the equalizer in the 81st minute when Mueller slid a soft, close-range left-footer past Howard.

The momentum was capped eight minutes later when Nani provided the game-winner.

Kamara struck in the ninth minute to give the Rapids the early advantage.

Defender Dillon Serna flicked the ball ahead, and Orlando City defender Robin Jansson was unable to clear it. Kamara responded by slamming it past Rowe with a hard, left-footed shot.

Orlando City tied the score in the 31st minute when midfielder Joao Moutinho sent a cross through the box and Nani headed it into the right side of the net.

Just two minutes later, the Lions moved ahead. Forward Dom Dwyer sent a close-range shot in on goal, and Howard made the save. However, there were three Orlando City players and nobody from Colorado in front of the goal, and Akindele slammed the rebound high into the center of the net for a 2-1 lead.

The Rapids tied the score in the 61st minute when Bassett delivered a cross from the right wing and the streaking Mezquida headed it past Rowe.
