Almeria 1-2 Malaga

Malaga boosted their chances of playing European football next season with a 2-1 win at Almeria which plunged their fellow Andalusians into deep trouble.
Jose Manuel Casado put the ball through his own net to give the visitors the lead after 22 minutes but Thomas Partey levelled for Almeria on the half hour mark, only for Javi Guerra to restore Malaga's lead midway through the second half.
Almeria remained 16th in the Primera Division table after the defeat but are just one point above Deportivo La Coruna, Eibar and Granada, while Malaga reclaimed seventh spot from Athletic Bilbao.
Almeria could have taken the lead as early as the second minute when Thievy Bifouma ran into the box from the left hand side but screwed his shot wide of the far post.
His team-mate Wellington Silva created an even better opportunity a few minutes later, spinning past two defenders to close in on goal but he somehow shot wide of the far post from inside the six yard box.
Malaga were hemmed into their own half for the opening 20 minutes and did not create a chance of their own until Fernando Tissone tried his luck from the edge of the area but goalkeeper Ruben Martinez saved comfortably.
Malaga took the lead from their next opportunity. Sergi Darder spearheaded the move from midfield, passing to Samuel Garica on the right. The forward crossed to Nordin Amrabat at the back post and the Moroccan's shot looked to be heading wide of the far post before it bounced off Casado and into the net.
The hosts found their way back into the game from a set piece, and Casado went some way to redeeming himself for the own-goal by sending in a fine delivery, with Partey floating in between two defenders to head into the net.
Almeria made a strong start to the second period, as they had to the first, and could have taken the lead on 58 minutes. Wellington played a marvellous one-two with Thievy to square to Javier Espinosa but the midfielder's attempt to turn in the loose ball was smothered by Carlos Kameni.
The Cameroon goalkeeper produced another vital save just moments later, tipping a dipping free-kick from Sebastian Dubarbier over the bar.
Almeria were left to regret those wasted chances when Guerra ghosted into the area unmarked to poke home Amrabat's cross from the right, helped by a poor piece of goalkeeping from Ruben.
Samuel Garcia could have finished Almeria off a few minutes later but his attempt to chip Ruben landed on the roof of the net and the hosts had a golden opportunity to level in stoppage time.
Dubarbier played a short corner to Corona and the captain cut the ball back for substitute Jonathan Zongo who sent the ball whistling inches past the near post.
