Tottenham took an early lead vs. Girona, only for their La Liga opponents to hit back with four unanswered goals and claim a comfortable friendly win in Spain.
Lucas Moura opened the scoring for the Premier League side with a 13th-minute free kick but that proved to be Spurs' only on-target effort of a game in which their opponents were increasingly dominant.
The hosts equalised nine minutes later through Juanpe and went into half-time ahead, thanks to a goal from Anthony Lozano. Luke Amos shot wide for Spurs after the break, before Girona extended their advantage via Portu and Aleix Garcia.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was without a host of stars still on holiday following the World Cup, including Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris.
Spurs, who earlier in preseason recorded ICC wins over Roma and Milan and drew against Barcelona, open their Premier League campaign at Newcastle on Aug. 11.
