James Walsh helps Maggie Nelsen prepare for the start of the Leadville 100 in the early hours of Aug. 17. Walsh paced Nelsen for the final 50 miles. She was in second place until late in the race, when she became really sick, Walsh said. Nelsen finished 10th among the women in 24 hours, 37 minutes and 45 seconds.
