In 2004, Roddick followed up his U.S. Open victory by taking the title in Miami at the largest tournament on tour behind the majors. After losing his year-end No. 1 ranking with a poor performace early in the season, the title put him back at No. 2 behind Roger Federer. Roddick finished his career with five Masters Series titles.
