Tennis Expert Picks - All England Lawn Tennis Championships

Editor's note: In selecting our picks, the "toughest road" must be by a player currently seeded in the top 10, and a "sleeper" is someone outside the top 10.

As a professional tennis player, Brad Gilbert was always uber-competitive.

Coaching Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray and, most recently, Kei Nishikori, Gilbert exploited even the slimmest of advantages.

In his role as prognosticator, Gilbert is similarly ruthless. It was he who pushed to raise the bar for Experts' Picks. How can you make accurate choices for a 128-player draw, he argued, without seeing the draw?

So far, through two majors, Gilbert has been en fuego.

"So let me get this straight," he said recently from his California home. "There have been 12 picks -- and I got seven of them right?"

Uh, yes, BG.

At Roland Garros, he went 4-for-6, along with newly minted French Open over-45 legends doubles champion Patrick McEnroe. Gilbert is two ahead of the field, a lead he hopes to extend at the All England Club.

Kudos, too, to 18-time Grand Slam singles champion Chris Evert -- the only expert to correctly choose Maria Sharapova as the women's winner in Paris.

And now, here are your Wimbledon picks. And as always, please, no wagering:
