Todd will be here in minutes. Send in those questions NOW!
Todd Blackledge (4:04 PM)
If you're a college football fan, you should love what's coming up this weekend, because Saturday's as good as games as we might see all season. You can find a major matchup for whatever conference, team you're looking at. Hard to believe we're seeing this in September.

Is the Ohio St. D good enough to win a national Chamionship?
Todd Blackledge (4:05 PM)
I think it's a little hard to make that statement after two ball games. I certainly think they're an athletic group and played well against Texas. I think it's a little early to say they're ready to win a national championship. I think it's easier to say their offense as long as they stay healthy is ready to get them to that place.
what did you get from maryland west va last night, what can we expect from maryland this year? thanks
Todd Blackledge (4:07 PM)
I think normally in a game like that that goes so one sided, the game that loses is not as bad as they looked. I think they were able to do a few things offensively, but they got behind early that they had to abandon things that they may have done if things were close. Maryland may not face a team explosive offensively as they faced last night in West Virginia.
How do you think the FSU running game will hold up versus Clemson?
Todd Blackledge (4:08 PM)
I would expect that FSU will run the ball a little better in this game. Clemson is a little banged up defensively. I think with FSU, the first game against Miami, you're talking about one of the best defenses in all of football. Then they had a short week against Troy. But now they've had a full week of practice and a chance to get rest and get focused. So I think they'll run the ball against Clemson as well as they have all season.
what do you think Rutger's chances are to win the big east, completely impossible or impossible
Todd Blackledge (4:10 PM)
I would not say it's completely impossible. It would be important for them to stay healthy. I like Schiano as a coach and as a defensive mind. They do have to stay healthy. I would see them when they play WVU that they may play it a little differently and put some guys in the box and force Pat White to throw the football. I don't think it's impossible.

What are the chances an ACC team will run the table...Do you think FSU has a prayer of making a BCS game?
Todd Blackledge (4:11 PM)
Well, they don't have to go undefeated to go to a BCS game, they just have to win the ACC title. Going undefeated is difficult, especially for a team in a major conference. I would say FSU of the teams in that league has the best chance to go undefeated, primarily because they've already beaten their tough game in Miami. Schedule wise, FSU would have the best chance to go undefeated in this league.

Just how close will the LSU Auburn game be??? Will LSU upset Auburn??
Todd Blackledge (4:12 PM)
I definitely think it's possible that LSU could upset Auburn. I think it will be a close game. I'll be surprised if it's a high scoring game. I think the home field will play a big part for Auburn. I would expect a close, low scoring game, dominated by defense.
Who do you like in the Miami-Louisville game this weekend?
Todd Blackledge (4:13 PM)
I do like Miami in the game. I liked Miami before Michael Bush got hurt. Their defense is outstanding. I think we'll see a different offense. The biggest reason will be that they will be a much more physical team than Louisville will be.
Hi Todd. Enjoy your opinions. What do you think about Jeff Bowden moving Lorenzo Booker into the slot position and trying to get the ball to him where he can utilize his talents in the open field. Have you heard if/how FSU may try to open the offense a bit against Clemson?
Todd Blackledge (4:15 PM)
The one thing that they are doing already with Booker and Smith is they throw a lot of swing passes and screens. If you look at it closely, you almost have to consider that's a way of running the ball for FSU. In a sense they do move them around because of them throwing the ball to them in space. I don't see them opening it up, but simplifying it a little bit by believing that they can block and execute the plays.
Brad (Iowa City)
Enough talk about all these wanna be games. How about your take on the best game of the weekend Michigan at ND? Two of the most historic programs and not a peep yet...
Todd Blackledge (4:17 PM)
Notre Dame was very impressive last week in beating PSU. I like Michigan's chances in this game because they have the athletes to matchup with Notre Dame. The game last week was so hyped with PSU that it's tough to come back and play at the same level. Michigan hasn't looked sharp the last couple of weeks. Chad Henne wasn't sharp, but I still like their chances in that ball game.
HI TODD,you think the longhorns will bounce back after that tuough lost weekand you thoughts.....
Todd Blackledge (4:18 PM)
I definitely think they will bounce back. It was a tough loss, certainly, but it was to the No. 1 team in the country. I don't think Texas has another team on their schedule that will pose the challenge OSU did. Oklahomas will be a test, but I don't think we can put them in the same class offensively as OSU. I still see Texas to bounce back and have an excellent season.

Oklahoma @ Oregon...who ya got?
Todd Blackledge (4:19 PM)
I think Oklahoma is the better team, the better players, more physical. But Oregon is a dangerous team. I think it will be a real challenge for Oklahoma. At the end of the day, I like Oklahoma, but it will be a very difficult game for them to win.
kyle (duncan, ne)
is nebraska good enough to compete with usc and pull the upset?
Todd Blackledge (4:21 PM)
I think that's the biggest question of this weekend is Nebraska and how they fare. It's clear that Callahan has Nebraska in the right direction. We'll get a clear answer of how far back they've come. USC is one of the class programs in all of football. I think this is a key game for Nebraska in gauging how close they are to the upper echelon in football. My hunch is that they're good enough to compete but I don't know if they're good enough to beat USC out in LA.
Andy (Baton Rouge)
Todd, is Jamarcus Russell the best QB no one has heard of?(15-2 as starter, 4 4th Q comebacks) Aslo will he have a big game when he returns to his home state.
Todd Blackledge (4:23 PM)
I'm familiar with JaMarcus because of my work with SEC in the last years. He's a physical speciman. A great arm. He's matured as a leader and field general. The numbers you pointed out are good, 16-2 as a starter. Is he overlooked a little bit? Possibly, but not in that region of the country. The thing that's difficult about him is he's so big and strong that when people are hitting him, he can stand up and throw the ball with strength and accuracy.
Lou (Washington DC)
Hi Todd, from a fellow Penn Stater... JoePa invoked your 1982 team this week comparing the ND loss to the bama loss that year. do you think this team can make the adjustments necessary to give OSU a game next week?
Todd Blackledge (4:25 PM)
I definitely do think that they can make corrections. I don't think what happened with ND is one team with better talent and dominating another team. I watched part of that game and PSU lost a lot of opportunities in that game to stay in it. I think they can make some corrections. I totally expect them to come in and play OSU much better than they played Notre Dame.
HEY TODD, what will be the biggest upset on seperate saturday for this weekand of games which are you most in seeing of the games.....
Todd Blackledge (4:26 PM)
Well, I'm looking forward to the game that I'm doing, Florida State and Clemson. The game I'm looking forward to watching is LSU-Auburn. I've become very familiar with the SEC over the last seven years. You've got a doubleheader that might decide who wins the conference, that's very compelling early in the season.
Todd, How concerned should Georgia fans be with UAB, in light of how tough they played Oklahoma this year?
Todd Blackledge (4:28 PM)
I certainly think that Georgia can't afford to take lightly. UAB has some quality athletes on their football team. I think Mark Richt and his staff will recognize that. You only have to look at FSU last week with Troy and late in the game, that game was in the balance. Georgia probably recognizes that. Plus they have a young QB making his first start. There are some intangibles there that they can't afford to overlook.
Todd Blackledge (4:29 PM)
Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy the great games. Even if your team loses this weekend, it's still awfully early in the season and too early to predict what will happen. But it's great to have this great of a weekend in September. Thanks for all the questions.
