Hey everyone. Look forward to answering all your questions and hopefully giving you and answers you want to hear, but probably not.

Toe to toe, two great Ranger agitators : Avery vs Barnaby : right here right now. Who wins?
Matthew Barnaby (3:03 PM)
Right now, Avery would defintiely win...I am so out of shape. But when I played I think if we talk about fighting, I would have taken him. As an agitator, we were probably equal, but he's definitely a better player.
Zach (East Lansing, Michigan)
Hey, do you think the Red Wings need to find a goalie at the trading deadline or do you think Chris Osgood can turn in around?
Matthew Barnaby (3:05 PM)
If there is a weak spot on the red Wings it would be Osgood. Having said that, in the past they have not given up enough shots to have him really tested. Thsi year has been a little different and if he does not play better than he has this would be an area I would look to improve on as the playoffs near.
Chris (Chicago, IL)
Are the Hawks hesitant to move Khabi now that Huet has looked so bad? Does he get dealt at the deadline anyways?
Matthew Barnaby (3:06 PM)
I think the Hawks are ina little better position now that Khabibulin has played so well. I think Huet will start to turn it up, and look for Khabibulin to be moved in the next six weeks.

Matthew, do the Rangers need to find a big gun. They are winning but not really scoring. To they trade for a Hossa type guy soon or are they fine right now?
Matthew Barnaby (3:08 PM)
I do not think the Detorit Red Wings are in the market to move Hossa. But a guy that is staring them in the face is Brendan Shanahan. He could add a tremendous amount of leadership and scoring to a power play that has given up seven short-handed goals.
Paul:(Norton Shores MI):
Hey Mathew!! With Barry Melrose Fired do you think he will even get another chance to coach and where do you think it will be?
Matthew Barnaby (3:09 PM)
I think Barry has seen his last day as a coach in the NHL. This was a marketing move that failed mostly because of ownership and lack of talent on defense. Barry has been out of the game a long time and the game changed. I defintiely think he will be back as an analyst and a very good one.
The Fleyers had a great play off run with Martie Biron leading the way. But now he looks really bad this year. What is he doing wrong? Or is it his poor Defense?
Matthew Barnaby (3:11 PM)
I think the Flyers have had a lot of breakdowns so far this year. And you need your goaltender to come up with a big save once and in a while to give you a chance. Martie was terrific last year, but has struggled this year. I cannot name one thing specific, but there are doubts whether he is a legit No. 1.
Matt (Houston, TX)
Name one fighter through your career that you fought but were afraid to fight before hand.
Matthew Barnaby (3:12 PM)
Stu Grimson, scrared the living ***** out of me. When I was not playing a lot and he rolled into town I never had a good night sleep the night before or the day of. Thank God those days are over.
Is there a team that has a better core of young players than the Coyotes?
Matthew Barnaby (3:15 PM)
There are a lot of teams with a lot of great youth. You look at Washignton, Columbus, Chicago, but Phoenix with Mueller, Boedker, Tikhonov and Turris have a bright future. I ahev watched a lot of games and they are so exciting everytime you watch.
Neal (Denver, CO)
Milan Lucic...Cam Neely reincarnated...or even better in your opinion?
Matthew Barnaby (3:16 PM)
Love this kid! He plays hard, plays fair, just seems to love the game. He is getting mentored by Cam Neely and if he can be half the player Cam was, which I think he will, it's pretty damn good.

is therre any news on marty? and will the devils still be in race bye time he is back?
Matthew Barnaby (3:18 PM)
Unfortunetly, for the Devils losing Marty Brodeur will mean missing the playoffs. Four months is too much for a team that depends on their MVP that much. They do not get enough scoring and with Weekes and Clemlenson in net this will be tough sleding.
Kyle (Ottawa, ON)
Do you wish you were as clever as James Duthie?
Matthew Barnaby (3:19 PM)
I cannot believe you are dissing me from my hometown. James Duthie is as clever as it gets, so yes I wish I was that clever.
Your fight with Rob Ray is still talked about because you guys were reported to be so tight. What can you tell us about the fight and are you still friends?
Matthew Barnaby (3:20 PM)
Razor is my best friend. I see him probably four days a week. The fight was funny because we had dinner at my house the night before and talked about the possibility that we might have to fight. We never thought it would come to that, but I was running around and that big ox had to slow me down.
Which current player most resembles your style of player?
Matthew Barnaby (3:22 PM)
Sean Avery. He is an agitator that draws penalties, gets teams chasing him around, but also contributes offensively. He is much better, but my teammates liked me.
Adam (Lake George, NY)
What are the chances the Sabres move some of their underachieving forwards for a reliable defenseman? With all the speedy forwards they have waiting to be promoted from the AHL, do you see that move coming?
Matthew Barnaby (3:24 PM)
I think that would defintiely be a possibility. They have a lot of depth at forward and with the way they have played defensively as of late, they could you a D. If someone would take Afinogenov off their hands, and give them a bag of pucks, they would jump at it. D are so hard to come by that you have to give up a lot to get a good one.
Are star players (like a Crosby) looked down upon by other players if they aren't willing to drop the gloves?
Matthew Barnaby (3:26 PM)
No guys like Crosby are there to score goals and lead your team. Knuckleheads like myself were brought in because we did not have the skill like Corsby or other stars. You do not want to have your best playte in the box because then it is an advantage for the other team.
What was your first thought when you heard that you were drafted by Buffalo 83rd overall in the fourth round in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft?
Matthew Barnaby (3:28 PM)
I first thought that I would be drafted a little higher, because of where I was rated. But at the end of the day, it seemed to be the perfect fit. I fell in love with the team, the organization, the city and the fans. It is a place that I still call home and was the most exciting day of my life just being drafted.
What was your favorite team to play against in your playing days?
Matthew Barnaby (3:29 PM)
No question, without a doubt, the Philadelphia Flyers. Playing them in the playoffs, against the Legion of Doom line and the death threats from fans the night before games, as sick as it sounds, something I will always remember.
Matthew Barnaby (3:29 PM)
Great questions this week. For those that I did not get a chance to answer, look forward to next week.
