Guru Garrow (2:58 PM)
Good afternoon everyone...let's get this partaayyyy started!
Oh my, look who finished below 30th at Indy. Oh I remember now. The one that cost somebody another steak dinner. lol. Sorry Mark, just had to bring that one up, just for fun though.
Guru Garrow (2:59 PM)
Gee...what a great way to start the chat session...way to go old DW.....lol....
Ryan (Gilbert, AZ)
Whats up Guru, The Jrs. Hornish and Earnhardt killed me last week, but I think I have the team to beat this week..........48,5,42,20,77...........I see some ca$h in my future, you?
Guru Garrow (3:01 PM)
I think that team has a great shot to do well in the Pocono "zone"...could be a little $$ in your future...and all I can say "don't forget the Guru"...lol
All Knowing-All Seeing NASCAR Knowledge Guru, Please rank these for Long Pond 96,44,43,77,47 Thanks for your weekly wisdom.
Guru Garrow (3:03 PM)
47,77,43, 44,96....and oh by the way...great introduction...lol.
Nick Rolando (Orlando)
Mark, I was close to an unbelievable last week if Hornish and Montoya did not have issues. In the Yahoo league, what do you think of the line-up of 5-11-00-47? Also, what's your feeling on where McMurray drives next year? I got to go finish my research paper, as always thanks Mark!
Guru Garrow (3:12 PM)
Nick..I was like you last week smelling some serious $$$...At last minute swapped Elliott over to my "floor"..and along with him all five of my guys..5,42,18,9, and 21..they were running top-8 at one point and I was thinking "whoa" this is going to be great....then "boom" it went all away and I was lucky to score a little over 500 points..unbelievable...your team of 5-11-00-47..should be pretty good this weekend..5-11 top-five potential..00-47 top-10 po-tential....By the way what's the subject?
Craig G. (Fairfield, California)
Hey Guru! Any insight into where Harvick or Jamie McMurray might be going next year? WHere do you think they'd fit best?
Guru Garrow (3:20 PM)
Craig G...here's the problem for Harvick..He's got another year on his deal with RCR and that could get really messy if he tries to force his way out, especially if he tries to take the Shell sponsorship with him. I don't think there's any doubt he'd like to join Tony and Ryan over at Stewat-Haas...Jamie McMurray could have a little trouble finding a marquee ride..There's some talk he could take Truex's place in the #1 over at Earnhardt-Ganassi..that might not be a bad fit..but he left Ganassi to go to Roush so there might be an issue there..McMurray's agent says they didn't burn any bridges but you never know..Roush could end up putting him over at Yates Racing...maybe he takes over for Bobby Labonte I guess...Also depends on if there is sponsorship money already in place or if there is a need to find a deal.
RAY GORDON REID ( EMERALD ISLE NC 28954)
QUESTION TO MARK GARROW AT 3.40PM GOODTUESDAY ALL KNOW ING GURU WHO DOES GURU CRYSTAL BALL SEE WINING POCONO SUNDAY
Guru Garrow (3:21 PM)
Ray Gordon..I might be sounding like a broken record for the last two weeks, but I really like Tony Stewart again..Hope your doing well man.
11 or 42 and 88 or 29. Gotta go 77 for the floor again, right?
Guru Garrow (3:24 PM)
Yes, George I see the 77 has a nice floor again..I'd probably go for Harvick over Junior...Hamlin should outperform Montoya by a little at Pocono..but Montoya is safer pick with 8th in Pocono 1 and the woulda, coulda, shoulda won at Indy..
Knowledable One, I can't keep up, what drivers are using the new Dodge engine at this time? Thanks
Guru Garrow (3:26 PM)
Billy ..don't know the answer to that one yet...I guess we won't have that until Sunday morning chat session..sorry..That was bummer Elliott Sadler finally got a chance to use one last Sunday and it went up in smoke..in a hurry..that was a heartbreaker for him..it had to be.
Looks like Red Bull is dragging their feet on Vickers, what is management using for a thought process? First they replace Dinger with Speed (thats working out well) and now they are not able to work out a deal with Vickers? What do you hear on this topic?
Guru Garrow (3:32 PM)
Billy, their GM Jay Frye is actually in Austia as we speak to discuss what the team is going to do next season..There's been some talk they would switch to Chevy and get their engines from Hendrick Motorsports in 2010...and that might be the opening for Brad Keselowski to go in over there. Would that leave Vicker's hanging? I don't know, but there's got to be a reason you agree to a contract with someone (Vickers) and then you don't draw it up on paper for months?..by the way from what I hear Allmendinger could have stayed at Red Bull, but he wanted no part of teaming up withe Scott Speed...that's just between "us girls"...lol..
Nick Rolando (Orlando )
Sorry forgot to mention the subject Mark. It's an online English class for at my local summer school that will give me my last English credit that I need at the college I go to (Florida Southern). Thanks for the fantasy advice, is Crown Royal headed to the 17 done deal?
Guru Garrow (3:33 PM)
Good luck in college..and oh yeah with the school part do well too..lol..Yes, I think Crown Royal is heading Kenseth's way.
Can you rank these guys: 88,1,29,44. Thanks.
Guru Garrow (3:34 PM)
29,1,88,44..is what I come up with now Timmy..
Craig G. (Fairfield, CA)
Hey Guru, why do you think Greg Biffle and Kyle Busch are struggling so much this year?
Guru Garrow (3:43 PM)
Not quite sure...Biffle is coming off a strong run at Indy..but Busch has had things heading south for about two months now...They need to pull out of slump this week because 82 behind 12th place is really in danger zone..One more toe stub and OW!...Busch's deal is that he might be pushing a little too hard..he needs to relax and I believe some of these races will come to him..
Team A)14,11,5,29,77 B)14,18,5,47,77 C)14,42,5,26,77
Guru Garrow (3:44 PM)
I like team "A" just a little bit better..18 worries me on "B"..and 26 on "C"...
Are all the "ringers" going to be around next week...said, fellows, carpentier?
Guru Garrow (3:45 PM)
Yes, they should be showing up en masse at Watkins Glen.
Nick Rolando (Orlando)
Final question Mark, (I'm on the last paragraph), from what I've read Roush wants to keep McMurray in the Yates camp but they don't have all the sponsorship yet?
Guru Garrow (3:49 PM)
That's one possibility...but word is Roush hasn't been that impressed with McMurray since he joined the team..If a deal could get done I don't think McMurray would have a problem with moving over to Yates...He'd have a job and would still be running Roush Fenway Fords..
Jay Busbee (PA)
All knowing Guru, I need help selecting my Expert picks for Yahoo tomorrow. Please pick 2 from 48,66,5 or 24. 4 from 14,39,42,9,11,2,00. Couldn't do it without your help...please dont tell Dan, Ricky, or Jay.
Guru Garrow (3:58 PM)
I'd go with the 48 and 24 or 5...Gordon's been a little more consistent at Pocono...Assuming you meant 99 instead of 66...Edwards should be okay too..As long as you have 48..any of the other three won't hurt you...In the second group..again all good cars ..all top-10 capable...but I like the 14..no brainer than the 39...If you guys are friends shouldn't you tell them about "us"...I'd want to know...would feel so cheap if I found out on the street..
Hey GURU, Had 14-48-5-77-21 at Indy for 672, but 21 is out this week and it looks like I'll have to drop a contender to get some cap room. Should I wait for Sunday chat and replace Elliot with an iffy floor or give up a "stud" in search of a balanced team? Thanks as always!
Guru Garrow (4:00 PM)
Richard, I'd wait until Sunday before doing anything..I think you could end up with two "budget boys" and three studs and do okay..say the 77 and 20...20 and 29..that kind of thing..
What is your rankings Who is this team 48-29-5-42-77
Guru Garrow (4:01 PM)
I think your team has some definite possibilities this weekend that's for sure..need the 29 and 77 to come through...as for my rankings..I haven't completed them yet but here's my prelim top-10...1. Tony Stewart2. Jimmie Johnson3. Mark Martin4. Carl Edwards5. Jeff Gordon6. Ryan Newman7. Denny Hamlin 8. Juan Pablo Montoya9. Brian Vickers10.David Reutimann
Craig G. (Fairfield, CA)
Do you like Hamlin or Logano this weekend? Thanks for the chat Guru, YOU ARE THE BEST!
Guru Garrow (4:02 PM)
I actually like both this weekend..Hamlin a lot..and Logano more than a little off that great run at Indy.
Guru Garrow (4:03 PM)
Got to run everybody..I've got a plane to catch in the morning. Hope you all have a great week...and with a touch of sadness (and one teeny, weeny little tear) I must announce "The Guru has left the building!"
