KC Joyner (4:01 PM)
Good afternoon! Let's talk some fantasy football!
KC! One WR spot open. Garcon, Floyd or or Austin? My Starters are Lloyd and Bowe
KC Joyner (4:03 PM)
Might want to go with Austin since Floyd's playing status might not be fully known until Monday. Having said that, any Floyd owners should try to trust him, as he should bounce back big this week if he does play.
Is Garcon really that bad? Please help, I have continued to start him, and now given up, I am going S. Holmes this week and probably Vincent Jackson starting next to pair with Calvin, but what is the deal, how can he be so bad?
KC Joyner (4:03 PM)
Injuries certainly have something to do with it. Plus, as noted in this week's TFS Insider article, Peyton isn't exactly having his best season.
Braylon Edwards (J-E-T-S)
I see that you love me or my match up this week. But would you play me over Maclin in a ppr league? Thanks for the help!
KC Joyner (4:05 PM)
Love is too strong of a word, but he is facing Glover Quin, a CB who is struggling of late, so Edwards should have a good game. Having said that, Maclin is #2 on the TFS start-sit charts (more info about which can be found at www.thefootballscientist.com), so go with him.
Bill and Ted (Excellent adventure)
Brees or Vick this week?
KC Joyner (4:06 PM)
Vick. The WR/CB matchups are looking quite favorable for the Eagles in this contest. Excellent!
Am I crazy to start Kitna vs. Lions over Eli vs. Eagles?
KC Joyner (4:07 PM)
It wouldn't be crazy, but Eli is rated higher. Manningham is a quality fill-in for the injured Steve Smith, so don't expect the Giants O to fall off too much.
KC, my friend! Castle Grayskull once again requires your assistance against the dreaded Skeletor! Need help at TE and flex: Hernandez or Boss? Keiland or Nate W? YOU HAVE THE POWER!!!!
KC Joyner (4:08 PM)
Mrs. Scientist actually recorded the live action version of that series - it's got to be one of the corniest films ever. Boss and Nate W (really like his matchup this week).
Am i crazy to start Bradford over Schaub this week?
KC Joyner (4:09 PM)
I've got them rated about equal this week. Schaub had a hospital visit and is on the road against a pretty good Jets D, and he hasn't exactly been a great fantasy QB this year.
Frank (San Francisco)
Miles Austin or Steve Johnson this week? Can't see Miles only getting 2 catches again vs DET
KC Joyner (4:11 PM)
Have them rated #23 and
Good afternoon, KC. I hope Mrs. Scientist has a nice dinner planned for you all tonight. With MSW out do you feel it will help Mike Thomas' value for this week or not really?
KC Joyner (4:13 PM)
Was on Thomas' bandwagon last week (though will admit the 20-point performance was a good part luck) and am still on it this week due to a favorable matchup against Eric Wright. MSW's status won't keep him from posting 8-10 points. Not sure on dinner plans, may go out this evening.
3-7 and need to win to have a slim chance at the playoffs!!! Schaub, Hill, or Sanchez to lead me to victory?
KC Joyner (4:15 PM)
Always like to see 3-7 owners still trying to win - Herm Edwards would be proud! Believe it or not, Sanchez is the way to go. He's had two 20+ point games and has the terrible Houston secondary on the docket this week.
Am I insane to think about starting Orton over Peyton?
KC Joyner (4:16 PM)
Again, not insane, as both are considered must starts, but Peyton does rank higher on the charts. May be down on his MVP candidacy but he's still a dominant fantasy QB.
Injury Riddled Backfield (Carolina)
Should I play Goodson or Beanie Wells this week??
KC Joyner (4:17 PM)
Wells is coming off of an injury and Goodson is healthy. The healthy player is the percentage play, so go with Goodson.
DA BEARS!!! I HAVE NEVER HAD A FANTASY QUESTION ANSWERED I have an ugly RB sitiuation at my 2nd starter spot. Whoever you say, I'm going with...Mike Goodson or Shonn Greene?
KC Joyner (4:19 PM)
Bears D looked really good last night. Goodson will get more carries but he has no QB to speak of. Greene will get 8-10 carries vs. a Houston secondary that will be playing its safeties back all game long. Go Greene.
Danny (Good Dilemma to Have)
Who sits this week: Foster, Charles or MJD?
KC Joyner (4:20 PM)
That is a good dilemma! MJD would have the be the sit, as his matchup is likely the toughest of the bunch.
Drop NY Giants Def for KC Def for this week? How about the rest of the season?
KC Joyner (4:21 PM)
Can't trust the G-Men against Philly and the Chiefs do face Derek Anderson. Make the move for this week. Probably will need another D rest of year as well.
MR T (Hollywood)
PITY THE FOOL WHO DOESN'T ANSWER!! sit Welker or Austin for Thomas(Jax)?
KC Joyner (4:23 PM)
His Piper feud was the best moment of his career (and was actually real in many ways, as he and Piper did not like one another at all). Sit Welker - one good game does not a comeback make.
Nervous Wreck (Philly)
Only 33 people left in my eliminator pool! Who would you take this week out of: SD, DAL, CIN and ATL????
KC Joyner (4:24 PM)
That is a tough call, can understand why you are nervous! Go with SD, as they are getting healthy and have Denver at home (would not say this if it were a road contest).
Cam Newton (Im on Espn every else..Y not here)
PPR. Need 2: Addai, Keiland Williams, N Washington
KC Joyner (4:25 PM)
Cam does draw ratings. Addai has injury concerns, go with Williams and Washington.
KC (and the sunshine band)
Who has the easiest CB matchup and thus warrants a start at flex this week? Mike Thomas, Crabtree, Garcon, or NWashington? Tanks mate.
KC Joyner (4:27 PM)
Thomas and Washington have the best matchups, but Crabtree is rated highest on the board. And would that I had a band backing me up!
Kim Deal (CA)
KCJ, your answer to Frank?s (San Francisco) question was cut off: Miles vs Steve Johnson? How about B. Edwards?
KC Joyner (4:28 PM)
Didn't see that, not sure what happened there. Austin over Johnson, Braylon trumping both of those two.
Yogi Bear (Stealing your Picnic basket)
HEY BOO BOO, LETS GO STEAL US A WIN!!! who do u start out of these three, lloyd, fitzgerld, or Bolden.
KC Joyner (4:30 PM)
My kids were just watching that cartoon a few days ago (they like the classic stuff as much as most of the new stuff, although Phineas and Ferb win out as their overall favorite - and win out as a TFS favorite as well, extremely funny cartoon). Fitz has a really tough matchup against Brandon Flowers, go with Lloyd and Boldin.
KC, I'm in a pickle this week. Start Hines at Heinz or use Lance Moore. I'm 3-7 and need to "ketchup" with the last playoff teams!!
KC Joyner (4:32 PM)
Pickles and ketchup - a good combination to go with a cheeseburger (am starving right now). Hines had the injury issue last week and Moore has a favorable matchup against the Seahawks D, so go with Moore.
Never gets a question answered ((Why not today?))
Flex Spot: please choose one.A-R.MatthewsB- D. DriverC- D. Branch
KC Joyner (4:33 PM)
Why not today, indeed! Mathews has injury/durability questions, Driver has even bigger injury questions. Got to go with Branch.
I could really use some insight on this. I need 2 out of the 3 in a PPR league. Crabtree, Boldin, and Manningham. They each have pro's and cons in their matchups thatnks.
KC Joyner (4:35 PM)
Boldin ranks #4 on the start-sit list (an absolute must start position) because of his matchup against Chris Gamble, so he's tops on that list. Manningham does have Asante Samuel as his matchup, which looks to be much tougher than Ronde Barber for Crabtree (although Barber is doing pretty well this year). Go with Crabtree.
Sidney Rice (Minnesota)
I'm coming back! Will I be worth a #1 waiver claim?
KC Joyner (4:36 PM)
Would much rather have Vincent Jackson than Rice, as relying on injured players to make a comeback is something of a risk. Having said that, if he can get back to close to full strength, having Rice in the fantasy playoffs would be a huge plus, so put a claim in on him and hope for the best.
Kick Butowski (San Diego)
KC, thoughts on Dez Bryant? Any estimates for production?
KC Joyner (4:37 PM)
Another of my kids favorite cartoons. Bryant should be in the 12-15 point range at the least, as Detroit really doesn't have a CB who can cover him (and Houston, the only one who might be able to, is likely to cover Austin).
Trade deadline today! I've been starting Big Ben & have been offered Rodgers for Wayne. I'd still have Roddy, Dez, Santonio
KC Joyner (4:39 PM)
They both have somewhat difficult matchup issues (the QBs, that is), so having both would be a huge plus. And Wayne isn't playing that well anyway (assuming you mean Reggie Wayne). Make the move.
Phineas and Ferb (Tri-state area)
I know what we're going to do today. We'll try and choose between Garrard or Kitna. Any input KC? Thanks!!
KC Joyner (4:42 PM)
Those two are great. That cartoon is funny for the kids and is incredibly well written - it's like the old Bugs Bunny cartoons where adults can get certain types of humor out of it that completely go over the heads of the kids. Kitna is the way to go at QB. Now's where's Perry?
Scooby Doobie DOO (miami, home of the nba champs)
Big Benny or Kyle Orty this weekend?
KC Joyner (4:43 PM)
Kids love Scooby as well. Ben and Orton rate 9-10 on the charts but with Orton on the road and Ben at home, would have to go with Ben in this one.
Perry The Platupus (Australia)
Should I start Javarris James over Chris Ivory? He has three TD's this season but only around what seems like 10-15 carries.
KC Joyner (4:44 PM)
Very tough call. Would probably go with Ivory if only because NO probably won't give Bush a ton of carries coming back from the injury.
Thundercats - Ho! Need to beat Mum-Ra this week. Flacco or Freeman? Giants D/ST, Pats D/ST or Waiver wire pick up? Thundercats - Ho!
KC Joyner (4:46 PM)
Thundercats rule! Like Freeman a lot but Flacco is the way to go. On D, not sure who the waiver options are, would probably take a safe one of them over the risky Giants and NE defenses this week.
What positions do you do start/sit for?
KC Joyner (4:47 PM)
WR, #3 WR, TE, QB, Defense and RB. Pretty much all of them.
Does anyone use their real name? (Iowa)
YO KC! Would you go with hakeem nicks or greg jennings this week?
KC Joyner (4:48 PM)
Why use a real name when you can use a creative one?! Jennings ranks higher, as Nicks has the much improved Dimitri Patterson on his docket this week.
Seth Joyner (Your Long Lost Brother)
Bowe or Desean this week.
KC Joyner (4:49 PM)
No known relation to the long time Eagles great, but at least he does spell his last name the same way. DeSean is #1 on the start-sit charts, gotta go with him.
Kick Butowski (San Diego)
You don't think that's my real name?
KC Joyner (4:52 PM)
Hey, all one has to do is take a look at some of the real names of some college football players this year to realize odd names are the norm. There is a guy named Shaky, believe it or not.
Dog on Foghorn Leghorn (Loony Tunes)
KC, I'm at the end of my chain! But don't paddle me just answer please. Floyd, Crabtree, or M. Williams west at WR2?
KC Joyner (4:53 PM)
Foghorn and that dog were the best! Williams has Greer (tough matchup), so he's a no go in this one. Floyd has a possible injury concern, so he's a no go. Crabtree wins by process of elimination.
Penalty Flag (Too Many RBs On The Field!)
Who should I drop... Bradshaw, Tolbert, Moreno, Woodhead or Lynch? PPR
KC Joyner (4:55 PM)
Flag for too many RBs - very creative! Lynch would be the drop there, just hasn't put up big enough points.
Pepe lePew (LooneyToons)
My team really stinks this season and I need help at WR and flex: Wallace, Mannignham, V. Davis, F. jackson and Moreno. Who plays?
KC Joyner (4:57 PM)
I'll plug my nose while answering (not because of the players, though - pretty good lineup there). Wallace and Moreno would be the ways to go, although you can't go wrong with pretty much any of of that group.
Robert Vaughn (Stumping for yet another...)
Law Firm. Start him this week over Blount, KC?
KC Joyner (4:58 PM)
And a good Law Firm it is! Green-Ellis is rated as a borderline must start versus Blount's good/very good start rating, having to with BJGE.
Sarah (Cold Petoskey, MI)
I had to drop Jacobs to pick up the KC D for the weeks to replace the Giants. It sounded above that you don't think that NYG D isn't going to bounce back from last week...I have them in two leagues!!!
KC Joyner (5:00 PM)
Being a blogger for ESPNNewYork.com, I hate to say it but the Giants really don't look to match up well this week. Webster is coming off of a bad game and Thomas has been getting worse as the season has progressed. Hope to be wrong on this for the Giants sake, but am not feeling good about their chances right now.
Thanksgiving Turkey (Oven)
I'm cooked if I don't win this week. Pick two: Maclin, Williams West, Collie and Mike Thomas. Happy Thanksgiving!
KC Joyner (5:03 PM)
A Thanksgiving reference is a great way to end the chat! Collie has injury concerns, check him off the list. Maclin is an absolute must start. BMW (Williams West) ranks higher, so go with him as well. And regarding this coming Thanksgiving week, there are no chats on Thursday or Friday, so we'll all have to catch back up the week after the holiday. Have a great turkey day! And don't forget you can follow my material on Twitter @kcjoynertfs.
