Where will andy dalton go in the draft?
Mel Kiper (3:05 PM)
I think he's going in the 5th-7th round area. He's a respected leader but he has a average arm.
D-Money (bay area)
Do you think Janoris Jenkins is a top 10 pick?
Mel Kiper (3:06 PM)
I wouldn't say Top 10, I have Amukamara from Nebraska and Peterson from LSU in my Top 10. Right now I see him as a mid first rounder.
Who will the redskins pick at #10 in the draft?
Mel Kiper (3:08 PM)
I think they will look at a QB. Blain Gabbert from Mizzou coming-out after his junior year is a player they will look at. They have needs at WR, on the O-Line and several positions on defense.
Better pro? More up-side? Gabbert? Locker?
Mel Kiper (3:10 PM)
Gabbert, he's bigger (6'5, 233). He doesn't have the speed that Locker has but he does have the mobility and he's a more accuarate passer. He's No. 9 on the Big Board right now and Locker is at 25.
Dane Sanzenbacher is a natural for catching passes from Payton Manning. What round will he go in?
Mel Kiper (3:13 PM)
I'd say the fourth round area. He's a hard worker and a gamer. He made his presence felt last night's Sugar Bowl. Last night, he had three catches for 59 yards, a 15-yard TD catch and a fumble recovery in the end zone for a TD. He was a key reason they were up 21-7, another game where he had a major impact. He would be a good sure-handed third or fourth receiver.
Always a great job! I know it's early, but who's the best player on the board for the Vikings at #12
Mel Kiper (3:14 PM)
They need a QB. They also need help on the right side of the O-Line and they really need a safety. They will be looking at the top four QBs behind Jake Locker. It's a little to early to talk about safeties though.
How much did Heyward help his draft stock with last nights dominating performance in the Sugar Bowl?
Mel Kiper (3:17 PM)
He moved back into my Top 25, he's at 21 now. He's played well in big games. Last night he really did a good job getting into the back field and making his presence felt. Last night he was their third leading tackler with six, had a sack, two QB hurries and knocked down a pass which help him a lot in the draft. Going into the last night, he was 29 in my ratings and now he's 21. He made an eight spot jump with one game.
If A. Luck gets drafted by the Panthers do you think he'll pull an Eli Elway?
Mel Kiper (3:20 PM)
The Panthers have had a good run in their short time in the NFL. They have been competitive and they've been to the SB. Many teams that have been in the league longer haven't been to the SB. They are in a QB strong division. The NFC South has, Brees, Ryan and Freeman. To me Luck is Peyton Manning with more mobility. If you're Luck, I don't see why he wouldn't want to go to Carolina.
who do you see the steelers taking in the first round in the draft?
Mel Kiper (3:22 PM)
They could be looking in a couple of different areas. Their two big needs are at CB and OT. At CB they can look for Janoris Jenkins from Florida or Gabe Carimi from Wisconsin at OT. There is a lot of good late first rounders out there for them to choose from.
What are your thoughts on DeAndre Brown and his possible NFL Future?
Mel Kiper (3:24 PM)
DeAndre has a ton of talent, he's 6'6, 240. He has a chance to be a very interesting NFL WR prospect. But he's in a class of juniors that has a huge WR talent pool. It's the best WR class I've seen in a while.
Who do you see the niners taking at 7?
Mel Kiper (3:25 PM)
I would say they look at QBs and OLB. They need to update their pass rush and strongly conceder a QB.
Where do you see Auburn's Nick Fairley and Cam Newton being drafted, and by who?
Mel Kiper (3:27 PM)
Fairley should go very high. Fairly is No. 3 on the Big Board while Cam in No. 13. If Luck stays at Stanford, Carolina will look at Fairly with the No. 1 pick. I think he has to go in the Top 3 overall.
With so many needs, where might you see the Browns going in the first two rounds? Great work Mel!!
Mel Kiper (3:31 PM)
They have to go for a WR and DE. They need a top notch 3-4 DE. They also have to decide what direction they are going at QB. Are they going to stay with Colt McCoy or will they look elsewhere. A perfect fit for them will be A.J. Green from Georgia.
Ben (Fort Worth)
Which prospects have done the most to improve their draft stock in the bowl games?
Mel Kiper (3:35 PM)
I would say Cameron Heyward (OSU), Ahmad Black (Florida), Austin Pettis (Boise State) and Vincent Brown (SD State).
Ryan (Medford, OR)
Mel, LaMichael James decided to stay in school. Smart move?
Mel Kiper (3:36 PM)
I think it's a good move. Hopefully he will catch move passes next year and he has to be a factor in the return game which he hasn't been so for at Oregon.
Who do you see the Falcons taking in the first round?
Mel Kiper (3:37 PM)
The biggest need for them is a DE opposite Abraham. The need a big player WR opposite White. They can use a young TE also.
Does Pat Devlin out of Delaware get a serious look from the NFL?
Mel Kiper (3:38 PM)
Of course. He's a senior and he's have two good seasons at Delaware. I think he will be in the fourth or fifth round mix. I think he has some long-term interrege. Sit him on the self and let him learn. He's not Joe Flacco but he's a good prospect.
Where do you project Adrian Clayborn in the NFL draft after his dissapointing 2010 season?
Mel Kiper (3:41 PM)
I think he was a marked man this season after a great year last season. He's No. 16 on the Big Board and I think he's a mid first rounder. His teammate Christian Ballard is going to get some first round confederation also.
Kyle (St. Louis)
Should the Rams try to jump past Cleveland to land A.J. Green or should the stay put and hope for Julio Jones?
Mel Kiper (3:43 PM)
Jumping around at that point isn't a bad move. Green in my top WR in this draft. I wouldn't mind Jones but if they want to jump for Green then fine but Jones isn't a shabby player to settle for. Justin Blackmon is also a steal at the position.
Grant (Ankeny, iowa)
Where do you think stanza will land in the draft?
Mel Kiper (3:44 PM)
I thought he would be as high as second round a month ago but now I'm thinking he's a third rounder. He has some talent throwing the football and he has good size.
The Big Orange (Saudi Arabia)
The TOcho nightmare appears to be over in Cincy, do you figure on them now taking a WR at #4?
Mel Kiper (3:46 PM)
They have some young receivers on their squad like Simpson and Shipley but yes, A.J. Green would be a guy they will look at. Da'Quan Bowers from Clemson at DE is a guy they could use. I would take Bowers first and look for a WR down the line.
Mel Kiper (3:48 PM)
We have some good bowl games coming up and we look all are looking forward to the National Championship game on Monday. I'll be back next Wednesday at my regular 1 p.m. ET start time.
