Quint Kessenich (2:31 PM)
Six more weeks to go in the regular season. Sunday I will be at the Meadowlands in New Jersey for a doubleheader on ESPNU.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
Who do you think will be the National Champions in Men's College Basketball?
Quint Kessenich (2:32 PM)
I think Kemba Walker and UConn will win.
Where do you think that Major League Lacrosse will expand to after Charlotte and Columbus? Do you think that there will be an MLL franchise in Minnesota soon?
Quint Kessenich (2:33 PM)
I don't think Minnesota is next on their list. Southern California, Seattle, Portland and Texas would be the next markets.
Why is it that there are few to no regular season college lacrosse games broadcast annually on ESPN or ESPN2? Isn't college lacrosse the biggest NCAA spring sport, like football is in fall and basketball is in winter?
Quint Kessenich (2:35 PM)
The ESPN family of networks will be televising over 50 lacrosse games this spring. Which is a lot seeing that 10 years ago there were zero games being televised. It's also a lot considering the attendance at these games.
Do you think that the NCAA Divison I Men's Lacrosse Championship should be expanded to include 24 or 32 teams? How long do you think it will take for the tournament field to be expanded?
Quint Kessenich (2:36 PM)
No. Right now there are 61 Division 1 men's lacrosse teams. I'm more in favor of cutting the field down to 12 teams then I am for expanding it.
Who is the Jimmer Fredette or Kemba Walker of men's college lacrosse?
Quint Kessenich (2:37 PM)
Rob Pannell of Cornell is averaging 5.5 points per game with is equivalent to a basketball player scoring 30 points per night and having 10 assists.
Who is the Brad Stevens or Shaka Smart of men's college lacrosse?
Quint Kessenich (2:38 PM)
I would say Army coach Joe Alberici or Penn coach Mike Murphy are two young coaches with upside.
Notre Dame snuck a first place vote in the rankings this week. Did someone just get tired of voting for Syracuse or is Notre Dame worthy of a No. 1 vote?
Quint Kessenich (2:39 PM)
Both teams are undefeated and Syracuse has been struggling. The Cuse have won three consecutive games by only a goal. The Orange have been unimpressive.
How badly do you want to see a program other than Virginia, Duke, Syracuse, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, or Maryland make it to championship weekend?
Quint Kessenich (2:41 PM)
I work for all 61 Division 1 lacrosse teams. I don't root or have favorites but I do tend to pull for the new programs or geographically challenged programs.
Tyler (Hartford, CT)
Big Virginia-Maryland clash this weekend. What do you think of this matchup?
Quint Kessenich (2:42 PM)
My gut tells me that Virginia will win. Maryland has a lot to work on and both teams are coming off of losses.
Reggie (New Jersey)
Some great games at the Big City Classic this weekend. What do you think of the matchups? Will you be there?
Quint Kessenich (2:43 PM)
I love these games. Rutgers vs. St. John's is a great local matchup. North Carolina and Johns Hopkins both had wins last week and their both good young teams. Duke vs. Syracuse should be fast paced and entertaining.
Is it time for UMass to possibly bring in some new coaching blood. This team falls apart a lot the past few years?
Quint Kessenich (2:45 PM)
That's a good question but one thing that we've learned in lacrosse is that coaches are seldom fired for on the field performance. Lacrosse is a non-revenue sport.
Who is your prediction right now to win the Tewaaraton Trophy?
Quint Kessenich (2:46 PM)
Rob Pannell of Cornell and it's not even close. My runner ups Steele Stanwick, Kevin Crowley, Shamel Bratton, and John Lade.
Hey Quint, how much do you like doing the new podcast? I've loved listening to it so far. Keep up the good work!
Quint Kessenich (2:48 PM)
I enjoy it. I love talking to different coaches from across the country. Typically we'll have about five guests a week. It's amazing how many top prgrams we talk to on a regular basis. It's fun and informative.
Quint Kessenich (2:49 PM)
Enjoy the Maryland-Virginia game this Saturday on ESPNU and we will be on the air Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
