Which team left in the tournement do you think has the best shot of beating Kentucky?
Jay Wright (3:07 PM)
I think Syracuse. Just because of their length, athleticism and experience.
Madison (The Villages)
how do u think KU will play tonight do you think because of how poorly they played the other night do u think that they will come out sharp or sloppy again
Jay Wright (3:08 PM)
Madison, I think Kansas has overachieved all year. I think this is one of Bill Self's best coaching jobs ever. Every night they win they're playing their best and finding ways as a team to win. I could see NC State, who actually is just getting to play their best basketball, having a chance to beat them.
Freddy (Lob Angeles)
How will 'Cuse offset the match-up nightmare vs. Jared Sullinger in the Elite 8?
Jay Wright (3:09 PM)
I think their zone gives them a chance to always keep two players around Sullinger. I think a bigger concern for them might be having a really intelligent guard like Craft disect their zone, might be more of a challenge for Syracuse.
Hi Coach Wright,Of the first four to get to the elite eight, which team has surprised you the most?
Jay Wright (3:11 PM)
Louisville. I'm amazed at how they continue to get better at this point in the season. Individually, Williams and Deng are getting better. As a team, defensively, they're playing together better than any other time this year.
Do you think Florida was under-seeded in this tourny? That team sure doesn't look like a 7 seed.
Jay Wright (3:12 PM)
I don't think they were underseeded, because seeding was based on their season performance. But I think they were definitely overlooked in terms of their ability to win this tournament. Their guards impressed their coach and the country in the Marquette game.
Fred S. (Ardmore, PA)
Coach - awesome weather in Philly this week. It's days like this where I love to kick back, have some water ice and watch the tournament. Who do you like in the East region?
Jay Wright (3:13 PM)
Syracuse. I think they have a lot of weapons. They've figured out how to play without Melo. I feel they're a team of destiny.
DCCat (Washington DC)
Jay, how the heck could you go for an In and Out over Five Guy's!!! What is next Steak Um's over Pat's?? J/K, Jay, in your opinion does playing in a dome significantly affect shooting and play vice playing in an NBA arena?
Jay Wright (3:13 PM)
I actually do like In and Out burgers better than Five Guys maybe because I don't get to eat them as much. I like Five Guys fries better.
Freddy (Lob Angeles)
How surprised were you that Mizzou lost so early? Do you think that team is the most comparable to any one of your Villanova squads in years past?
Jay Wright (3:14 PM)
Very surprised, because we played them earlier in the year and I was impressed with them. Secondly, Norfolk State was incredibly prepared and made huge plays that you don't expect froma 15 seed. But give Norfolk State credit. They were prepared and made every single play they had to make, including an and-1 on an airball.
Nick (New Jersey)
Good afternoon Jay, big Nova fan here. Do you think NC State is a legitimate final four contender after UNC's potential loss of Kendall Marshall?
Jay Wright (3:15 PM)
I definitely think they're a legit Final Four contender, becuase they're playing their best basketball right now. Their confidence is sky high. If they get past Kansas, the next two teams are good matchups for them, given Kendall Marshall's injury.
C. Nolfi (Philadephia)
What are your thoughts about Temple joining the Big East? Do you think it may make recuiting more difficult with another Philly area team in the Big East?
Jay Wright (3:17 PM)
The process has been very fluid. There have been positives and negatives. In the end, it works out great. Temple football adds stability and a great market for Big East football. Temple basketball joining Villanova makes Philadelphia a great Big East city. Finally, Temple's admission to the Big East has helped Villanova get an opportunity to get Big East football down the road.
Lindsey Jones (Detroit)
Hey Coach Wright, Now that we are more than halfway through the Tourny. What conference would you say is the strongest?
Jay Wright (3:19 PM)
I think so far the Big East and the Big Ten have been the most successful in the tournament both having 4 teams in the Sweet 16.
W. Burrs (Philly)
Coach - I've been in the classroom all week grading standardized tests. Haven't caught much of the tourney this year. What are your impressions of the play overall?
Jay Wright (3:20 PM)
I thought last Friday with the two upsets in the 2-15 games was one of the great days in the NCAA tournament. I think the teams that remain in the tournament today provide some of the best matchups ever in the tournament. But I think every year each tournament has its own flavor and it's still the greatest sporting event in our country.
Jason (Gainesville, FL)
Coach Wright, who is your pick for the Florida/Louisville game and why?
Jay Wright (3:22 PM)
One of the great NCAA matchups in tournament history. Two future hall of famers, mentor against student. And two teams that are as hot as anyone left in the tournament.
Could you see Ohio upsetting UNC without Marshall and Henson not being at full strength?
Jay Wright (3:23 PM)
Without a doubt Ohio has the toughness, the tournament experience with some of the veteran players having beaten Georgetown. I think UNC will win in a 1-2 point game, but everyone knows in a tournament game, these teams, without Marshall, are very close. If I'm honest I have to pick UNC.
Jay Wright (3:24 PM)
