How do you think that the Texas Football Team will be in 2012?
Sean Adams (12:22 PM)
I like this team. I think my level of optimism has grown during the course of the off-season. Obviously, the conference has made some changes and WVU and TCU make the conference better. Texas has a number of push games and no games that I call a loss off the top. WVU, TCU, OU and Kansas State are all push games that could go either way. If forced to answer I say 9 - 3 would be my prediction but it could be better. I don't think it will be much worse, 8 - 4 as the floor would be my prediction. If it is worse than that, something really went wrong and turmoil would break out.

Sean, seen that Darius Terrell and Eyron Barnett is transferring from the football team..is these transfer going to have any effect on the depth come August?
Sean Adams (12:28 PM)
I don't believe so. The TE position might not be the deepest but it is a variable position that will be fine. As far as the DB's are concerned -- I wanted Barnett to do well because he was a big bodied player but the defensive backfield is loaded and getting deeper when the freshmen check in in June. They'll be fine.
Michael Twining (Austin)
Is Garrett Gilbert going to make us jealous next year?
Sean Adams (12:31 PM)
I don't know if he is going to make Texas fans jealous but I do believe that he is going to play well. Sometimes a fresh start is huge for people in sports and in life. As a fan of the student-athlete, I'm excited to see if he can live up to his own promise and become the type of quarterback he wants to be. Forget what everyone else wants him to be. He needs to be strong and good for himself.
Best QB in the Big 12?
Sean Adams (12:38 PM)
That one is pretty easy right now. Geno Smith had huge numbers at West Virginia last year. 4,385 yards, 31 TDs, 7 INTs, 65.8%. He has to be the # 1 right now and I would expect him to be first team All Big 12.
Knowing what you know right now, what is the % that Conner Brewer never starts a game at Texas? In my opinion, he appears to be sandwiched between 3 more years of Ash and 3 years of Swoopes. I know things happen, but this makes sense on the surface, right?
Sean Adams (12:45 PM)
I would put that percentage at 10%. Conner Brewer is a really good QB. The thought is always that someone new is someone better. Swoopes will redshirt and have some space. It does make sense on the surface but the same conversation was had about Major Applewhite and Colt McCoy. Don't write him off. Brewer's a player. Think about GJ Kinne. How would the quarterback position be if he had never gone to Tulsa. He would have been good and GG would probably be ready to be the starter this fall.
Michael Twining (Austin, TX)
Is anyone else as excited about Caleb Blueitt as I am? Any chance we see him log any significant playing time before his junior season?
Sean Adams (12:49 PM)
Blueitt is one of the kids in this class that will surprise a lot of folks. He could actually play tight end if they wanted him to and he could contribute at there as a freshmen.
We heard before the 2010 and 2011 seasons that Texas would pound the ball in the running game, and that seemed to be true against weaker teams, but was unreliable against better competition. Should we be worried they will put up 400 yds against Tech and KU but have a lot of third and long against OU and the top tier? Why will it be different this year?
Sean Adams (12:54 PM)
The offensive line will be better and the RB's will be healthy. I think the team will be more consistent because the pieces are in place. I can't say enough how much the offensive line will be better than previous years, even 2009 when Texas played for the national championship.

What are your thoughts on Brock Huard's ranking of QB U?
Sean Adams (12:59 PM)
Love Brock but he is more of a Pac 12 homer than me and that is hard to be. Having USC, Stanford and Oregon on that list is funny. USC is number 1, easily. Amazes me that he left off Texas and Oklahoma. Arkansas can probably make an argument as well.
Is Texas gonna remain part of the Big 12 for the future?
Sean Adams (1:05 PM)
I think they will be part of the conversation for a while. The situation is great for Texas and as Oklahoma continues to build its brand, they will continue to branch in the media space. The dollars are right, the autonomy is right and Texas will be in the Big 12 for a long time.
Do the transfers mean that N. Hughes will no longer greyshirt? Who else will Texas target with the new openings?
Sean Adams (1:11 PM)
I don't think so. Hughes is a special case and the Texas coaches will have their targets before they change their greyshirt for him. I would expect that he will end up with a scholarship but a number of things would have to change before he won't greyshirt.
Ref (Time Out)
So are there certain questions you want, because i only see you answering certain ones...I just noticed that the chat isnt nearly as engaged as when William is on Tuesdays..why is that?
Sean Adams (1:13 PM)
I don't know. I know this is the first question that you have sent me. Send me something. William is more dialed in on the daily ins and outs of recruiting while I do more team coverage.
Frank (Arlington, texas)
Will Texas men's basketball team next year be better or worse?
Sean Adams (1:16 PM)
Better. Having an established player at the guard position helps a lot and Ridley will be a scorer and defensive presence in the middle. I like them a lot. They will be no lower than fourth (but could be higher) in the Big 12 in 2013.
bored at school (san antonio)
as of right now, what rank is Texas in the 2013 class rankings? Also, you're awesome bro.
Sean Adams (1:19 PM)
Thanks for the kind words. Texas will end up with a Top 8 class but the low number of signees could keep them from being higher. Texas will have a higher average star than most and will have guys in the 2013 class that will contribute right away. The Texas staff gets a lot of love from me for the way this class has come together.
Caleb Pettis (Indianapolis, IN)
If Mack Brown has two more unsuccessful years. Who will be a candidate for the head coaching job if Harsin and Diaz are unavailable?
Sean Adams (1:21 PM)
A who's who of college football coaches would be available. Cancel that conversation though, Mack Brown won't have two unsuccessful years.
Aubrey (College Station)
5 years from now, is A&M on par as a program with where Arkansas is currently in the SEC?
Sean Adams (1:24 PM)
No. They are where Arkansas was a decade ago. They have work to do on the defensive side of the ball and on the offense for that matter. They are going to have to grow into their conference.
Pick-up 7-on-7, two quarterbacks available: Chance Mock and Case McCoy. Who are you taking? Remember, this isn't a radio show (although I'd love to put Chance and Case both in the same room together and air it live).
Sean Adams (1:25 PM)
Loaded question but my co-host Chance. He was a good player. People forget about that for some reason.
Sean Adams (1:26 PM)
Thanks for all of the great questions. I'll be back next week. Peace.
