Sean is running a little late. We'll get started soon. Keep sending in your questions.
I am predicting a Big Game from our Defense. How do you think our defense will fair?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:20 PM)
I think the defense will play very well. Oklahoma State has issues on the offensive line and if Texas can get pressure with the front four and not have to blitz, the Texas defense will play well. I agree with you on the big game.
Shawn (West Orange, NJ)
I'm so worried about this game - especially given the fact that Hicks and Fera won't be playing. OSU is a good team and more so at home. How are the issues at LB going to be addressed? What do you think the final score will be - or at the bare minimum, who wins?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:24 PM)
At its core this is still a game where the Texas defense is playing against a redshirt freshmen quarterback that lost his job to a true freshmen and an offensive line that has issues. I think Texas will win the game. Texas will play nickel a good piece of the game and will get run integrity because Vacarro will be the back near the LOS. If I could shake the history of Texas getting down in Stillwater I would feel much better about this game. BUT, Texas wins.
i love mack brown as much as anyone and think he's done an amazing job as our coach, so is it wrong that i feel a little disappointed that we dont have at least 2 national champs? its being a little greedy yes but i can't help with the talent we've had over the years we should have at least 2
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:27 PM)
I understand that but he has one and played for another. The 2009 game against Alabama was a game that many people think they win if Colt McCoy does not get hurt. A lot of coaches have dealt with winning one and didn't get two. They are so hard to come by. Bobby Bowden finally got one in 1993, lost to Tennessee in 98 but finally won a second in 99 when they beat Michael Vick and VT. Mack Brown will have a shot to win another one.
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:30 PM)
It all depends on the middle of the offensive line and the ability of David Ash to keep the OSU defense honest. Texas needs Brown to be a stud in this game and Texas will have a hard time winning if he cannot get over 130 yards. Texas needs to run for 250 yards in this game. I know that sounds like a lot but it is keeping the OSU offense off the field but also about keep the crows out of it.
Shawn (West Orange, NJ)
Should we be worried about the current state of recruiting? A'Shawn Robinson might bounce. We don't have that one final receiver. Benenoch and Billings aren't locks. What is going on?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:33 PM)
There are a lot of big time programs recruiting the state of Texas and because of the offer patterns and timing Texas has used, they have their work cut out for them. Recruiting patterns continue to evolve and Texas will have to evolve with them. Yes, even Texas.
Ben (Wichita Falls, Tx)
with the Hicks injury, which of the young Texas LBs would you pick to have a "wow" moment (or coming out party) at Okie St.?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:34 PM)
It is set up perfectly for Dimarco Cobbs to have a coming out party and they need his athleticism and his speed to make plays. With Vicarro spending more time near the LOS, Texas needs Cobbs to be a star.
Hey sean what do you think about the texas run game coming in to this weeks game?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:40 PM)
I love the running game and feel that the game with Ole Miss and Texas' ability to pass the ball better will only help. Again, and I know I sound like a broken record but it will all come down to the middle of the offensive line. Texas needs to top 200 yards rushing in this game and they should be fine.
Kahn Souphanousinphone (lay ocean)
shot in the dark which current longhorn do you see having the best pro career
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:42 PM)
Vacarro can have a very long career. He has a great feel for the game, will be okay in coverage and can support the run lik a linebacker. As long as he tackles well and changes his game to tackles and not crushing blows that hurt him as well, he will play for a long time.
Kevin J (FL)
Do you see Texas making it to a BCS bowl game and what games do you see them having trouble with throughout the season?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:45 PM)
I picked 10 - 2 before the season started and could not say which two they would lose. I've adjusted my thoughts on Oklahoma (down) and Kansas State (up). Kansas State on the road Dec 1st, Oklahoma in Dallas and surprisingly Baylor the week after (a trap game) are the toughest games along with hosting West Virginia. The conference is still wide open.
Malcolm Williams (Tyler, TX)
If Ash has a big game, will he finally get his name in the Heisman conversation? if not, then what about WV too?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:48 PM)
That's the same question as if we will know Texas is back if they beat Oklahoma State. They are still a team that is not ranked in one of the polls. WV (assuming they get by Baylor) will be a Top 10 team with a big time offense. That would be the announcement but Texas would win by controlling the ball and running ball. Don't think Ash will be in that conversation.
Hey Sean, who's the surprise performer of this week for the Longhorns?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:50 PM)
Johnathan Gray will get more carries this week and will perform. For some reason, I think Adrian Phillips will have a good game as well.
Sean, it seems like O-Line depth, which was a major concern entering the season, hasn't been brought up as much as an issue. Do you think the depth is really coming together as a result of coaching, or is the issue still there at certain positions?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:52 PM)
That question will be answered this week. They have not played a great defensive line and while OSU's defensive line is not great, it is better than either of the three they have played. The depth has been good but they will get better as the year goes on.
Kevin (Reno, NV)
Who would you consider must recruits for Texas BB in 2013?
If Texas runs the gauntlet and beats OSU, WVU, and OU, how far up the rankings do you think we move?
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:56 PM)
If Texas runs those three along with what will take place around the country, Texas will be in the Top 5. That's a strong 'if' though. When I predicted 10 - 2 beofre the season started I thought they would lose one of those three and one other one. If they win those three, they could run the table and be in really big conversations a year earlier than most thought.
Sean Adams, HornsNation (12:57 PM)
Thanks, everyone. I'll be back again next Friday to chat before the Longhorns take on West Virginia.
