Tom will be right with us. Keep the questions coming.
Zack (Miami, FL)
Hey Tom, this is about the 20th time I have submitted a question, please answer one from me! What's up with Willie Williams?
Tom Lemming (3:03 PM)
Willie is down to Miami and FSU. Although the Seminoles are doing a great job with him, but I think he'll end up a 'Cane.
Tawd (Lincoln, NE)
Mr. Lemming, any final guesses on how far up the huskers can move in the rankings, and are there any sleepers that they have a shot at (Rocky Hinds).
Tom Lemming (3:07 PM)
I've been surprised at how well the Huskers have done in just 10 days. Cortney Grixby and Brandon Jackson are legit All-Americans. If they can get, Lydon Murtha, one of the nation's best tackles, to change from Minnesota, if will be even better. Callahan will talk to Rocky Hinds this week in hopes of getting him to visit. They will also go to the home of Roland Martin and Darryl Richard. I love their approach -- never give up on anyone. This could allow Nebraska to get a couple more blue chippers before Signing Day.
What is the latest on Brian Toal? Is he coming here to Tennessee or BC? Thanks
Tom Lemming (3:09 PM)
It is dead even between BC and Tennessee. Toal went to Penn State last weekend and will visit ND, Va. Tech or Michigan this weekend before announcing live on ESPN on Signing Day.
Hey Tom, Who do you think Kyle Mitchum will verbally commit to at 4:00 today?
Tom Lemming (3:09 PM)
If he doesn't go to Ohio State, I'll be shocked. I think he's been committed to the Buckeyes for about a week.
Will Leon Hart be a tiger next year and will Auburn rally to have a decent recruiting year? Thanks!
Tom Lemming (3:12 PM)
Auburn will have a good, but not great class. The Tigers have a slight lead over South Carolina for Leon Hart. The Gamecocks were out of the running until Hart visited Columbia last weekend.
Please give me your opinion as to whether or not PSu can get Anthony Morelli. It would be great for Penn State and their fans!
Tom Lemming (3:14 PM)
It looks like Morelli might be shopping around. Penn State and Ohio State are two schools he is serious about. However, he still remains committed to Pitt.
Do you think Michigan will Cameron Colvin or Adrian Arrington? and when will Tim Jamison make his decision
Tom Lemming (3:17 PM)
I think Cameron Colvin will end up at LSU. However, the commitment of WR Fred Davis to the Trojans could change that. Adrian Arrington seems to be 50-50 between Michigan and Iowa. Jamison was leaning towards the Wolverines, before his visit to Michigan State last weekend. It's now a three team race between Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin. Look for a decision as early as this week.
How many phone calls do u make a day?!?!
Tom Lemming (3:18 PM)
Probably close to 100, but I receive more than I make. I get close to 200 calls a day.
Chris (Rochester, NY)
Tom, What's up with the ND recruiting? They are usually in the top-10 if not the top-5. Everyone said Willingham would have the influence to bring blue chippers in and he hasn't thus far. Where are they going wrong?
Tom Lemming (3:20 PM)
I don't think they are offering enough guys early and don't have enough players on their overall A list.
Cory, Los Angeles
Tom, Cameron Colvin is not even considering LSU. What the hell are you talking about?
Tom Lemming (3:21 PM)
Bad typing there. Colvin is obviously USC not LSU.
Tom, what's is going on with Miami recruiting, is seem like this year they are losing out more frequently in regards to the blue-chippers?
Tom Lemming (3:24 PM)
You are right about that, although they are still a top 10 team. The 'Canes are having a more difficult time battling the other super powers in the South. USC came in to snag Keith Rivers and might get some more that the 'Canes are after. I think Miami will find it even more difficult when they enter the ACC because it will give a competitive edge to everyone else. The 'Canes were the clear leader in the Big East, that won't be the case anymore.
Matt (Rolla, MO)
Hey Tom, which program(s) has been a surprise in regard to committing blue-chippers?
Tom Lemming (3:26 PM)
Alabama, Illinois, Missouri, Texas A&M, Arizona, Kentucky are doing better than expected. Nebraska is also making a big late move.
Ben (Baton Rouge)
I know Glen Davis has committed to LSU but for basketball. Do you think he will also play football for the tigers?
Tom Lemming (3:27 PM)
If he's smart, I think he has a higher ceiling for football. He has a football body and I think he's an all-american tackle in the waiting.
Tom, Why do you try to be negative on Penn State chances. I have been observing you for a long time and even on the prospects they have a legitimate chnace you mention that they do not have a prayer? Hope you answer my question..thanks
Tom Lemming (3:29 PM)
I said earlier that the Nittany Lions have a shot at getting Morelli from Pitt. Tom, I'm just trying to be honest here. Penn State started out fast and have hit the skids over the past few months and are trying to rebound.
Kurt (Cedar Rapids)
Obviously you have your favorites (schools) is it hard not too show that with the recruits? I mean its only human to grow up rooting for a particular school or conference.
Tom Lemming (3:32 PM)
I grew up rooting for the Chicago Cubs. It's not hard to show favoritism at all. I try to get in ask the questions and let the kids answer. I also try to give the recruits some privacy and not hound them all year.
Tim (Grand Rapids)
Is Kevin Grady the real deal?
Tom Lemming (3:33 PM)
Yes, he is. I have him ranked as the No. 2 running back in the Midwest for 2005. He will be the top prospect in Michigan next year and is already committed to the Wolverines.
Margaret (Ann Arbor)
Hey Tom, how come you never answer any questions from a girl? Some of us actually love football. A little early I know, but any thoughts on the quality of next years class?
Tom Lemming (3:36 PM)
It's early, but since I live in Illinois, the Chicago area will have its best group in 15 years. At least 70-80 players will get full rides. The state of Michigan will be good. North Carolina, New Jersey and Florida will also be improved. We had 300 top juniors at the Reebok Combine in San Antonio which gave me a good early start on my evaluations.
what big names besides Ingram do you see the gators landing? And do you think Joiner or Manson may end up somewhere else?
Tom Lemming (3:38 PM)
The Gators also have a shot at Robert Ayers and an outside shot at Calvin Darity. I think they will get Ingram. Alabama is putting a lot of heat on Manson and FSU is doing the same with Joiner.
Where do you see Olu Hall ending up?
Tom Lemming (3:39 PM)
I think Virginia Tech, Tennessee and Ohio State are the most likely schools.
Tom, Is Franklin Okam the remaining player on the Texas Longhorns' board?
Tom Lemming (3:40 PM)
He is the remaining big player on their board. It's still between Texas, A&M and OU.
Seth (Arlington, VA)
Hey Tom, Any word on what way Rhyan Anderson from Wisconsin is leaning?
Tom Lemming (3:42 PM)
Anderson seems to be leaning different directions every week. Florida, Miami, Ohio State and Oklahoma are his leaders.
AntiCommunist (Detroit, MI)
Tom, what do you think FSU's chances are of getting DeMario Pressley out of North Carolina?
Tom Lemming (3:45 PM)
In past years it would be a slam dunk. But now UNC and NC State are giving the 'Noles all they can handle. Right now it is a three team race.
Tom Lemming (3:45 PM)
That's all for today. Thanks for the questions. I'll be back for more on Wednesday.
