Stephania Bell (3:00 PM)
Happy Tuesday everyone! Have to limit the chat to 3:30 today but we will get right to your questions.
Are you starting Crabtree this week if he plays in std league? Alternatives are K. Wright, D. Moore, Amendola...Floyd in WW...Thx
Stephania Bell (3:03 PM)
LittleRon: I would not start him this week. I'd wait to see how he looks and how they're using him. This is a tough injury to come back strong from and athletes will tell you it often takes a year to feel like themselves. I don't think he'll be used extensively in the early going.
Thoughts on Cobb this year? I don't have access to the video/podcast right now.
Stephania Bell (3:04 PM)
BMK: Problem is he's not eligible to return until Week 15. So you're hoping he's productive immediately (both from injury recovery- -which there;s a good chance - and from utilization) in order to help you. If you have the luxury of IR slot, great. If not, not sure I take the chance.
Have both Julius Thomas and Jordan Reed? Do I hope they are healthy before game time or do I use my waiver for a TE?
Stephania Bell (3:07 PM)
Allen: Sounds like Thomas is a non-concern as far as the Broncos feel. I think for del Rio to be relatively unconcerned early is a really good sign. Reed doesn't play until Monday night and with concussions, until they take the field you can never be certain. So you need a backup for him. I think Thomas will play but admittedly some risk if you don't grab a backup to these two.
Hi: With an injury like Jordan Reed's concussion, when would expect to get some idea if he'll play? Could this go all the way up until gametime Monday night? I don't have a backup, so this leaves me in a tough spot.
Stephania Bell (3:08 PM)
Andy: Just to follow on the last post. Yes, we should get an idea. In other words, should be doing some activity by late in the week if he has a real chance to play. The caveat with concussions is that there's always the possibility that symptoms return out of the blue and you end up with a late scratch.
any news on welker? thanks
Stephania Bell (3:09 PM)
dave: Similar to Reed (other than he plays Sunday, not Monday). The Broncos are admittedly just going through the protocol but seem encouraged early.
Can I count on Darren Sproles as a bye week fill-in for Shady this week or do I need to look on the wire for Ogbonnaya or Montee Ball (PPR)? Thanks.
Stephania Bell (3:11 PM)
Phil: Well, I think Sproles will play but you wonder how he'll be on the short week with a banged up ankle. He hurt his ankle this week but returned to finish out the game, always a plus. But you probably won't see him much before Thursday so they can rest him.
Norv (San Diego)
What's up with Keenan? Will he be okay going forward? Mostly thinking about the effects of suffering a hyperextended knee?
Stephania Bell (3:12 PM)
Norv: Luckily, not the same knee he hurt in college or it could have been a far worse outlook. McCoy seems to think he's fine, has already said he'll play. Team obviously not too worried.
Do you think Garcon's ankle is really hurt or was he just po'd that the Eagles kicked their butts?
Stephania Bell (3:14 PM)
Andy: Not in his head so I really can't see. But hard to imagine he's making it up entirely. I'm sure that the pain is worse with a loss. Haven't heard anything to suggest he's in danger of missing MNF. And with Hankerson out, they'll be down a receiver option.
Is McFadden coming back this week? Does it even matter with the way Jennings is playing?
Stephania Bell (3:16 PM)
James: I think you answered your own question. Not sure I buy Jennings as putting up those numbers each week but I don't have confidence in McFadden and I'm not sure the Raiders do either. They know what he's capable of but they don't get to see it very often.
Any updates on Cutler playing this season? I like his schedule for the playoffs.
Stephania Bell (3:18 PM)
Perry: Think it's too early to panic on him not playing this season. But he is clearly a ways away from returning. Think originally he was hoping he'd be back by now but instead he's still in a cast. The literal week-to-week designation is in play - and valid.

How is Harvin feeling after game 1? Also Dez good with some help from bye? Thanks!
Stephania Bell (3:20 PM)
Andy: He's feeling a little sore, which is expected. But not overall worse for the wear. The Seahawks are comfortable with how he responded and the next game isn't for two weeks. THere won't be the same concerns as far as his health but how they choose to use him is another matter. And don't know that Dez is out of the woods but the bye definitely helped.
Can you tell me how long Cutler will be out? It seems odd to have your ankle in a hard cast vs walking boot for a high ankle sprain. Thanks
Stephania Bell (3:22 PM)
Ken: It's not everyone who needs it. But whatever their reasoning, they clearly don't want him moving it at all. Period. The boot comes off and you can do some range of motion. Sometimes the medical staff just wants to limit the player's ability to "test" the ankle. But other times the sprain is more severe, damage goes further up the leg and they want it to be more protected.
Hello Stephania. How are you doing today? Who if any would you stash out of Cobb, Crabtree, and Pitta. I watched the videos posted today, but i didn't know who was more favored out of them.
Stephania Bell (3:25 PM)
George: I'm well, thanks for asking. If I had the luxury, I'd probably add Pitta first. Could be productive right away and of the three appears to have the potential to return in a meaningful way soonest. Crabtree could return this week I suppose but I just don't see him doing much initially - and perhaps even for a few weeks. They want him late and potentially into the playoffs.
Is Roddy still bothered by injuries or are the Falcons just plain awful this year?
Stephania Bell (3:26 PM)
Tristan: Yes. Seriously though, White is on the mend, perhaps the healthiest he's been although still appears on the injury report so he's not perfect. And as to the second part, well, the results speak for themselves...
Marlon Brown - any update on his status? He's got a juicy matchup this week against the Jets pass D.
Stephania Bell (3:27 PM)
Jason: I know, right? But no word on guys who missed the prior week until Weds practices so we have to wait.
Hey Stephania! Thanks for all the work you do! Do you think Aaron Rodgers will return by week 13 and also is this a significant re-injury concern?
Stephania Bell (3:31 PM)
Josh: Thank you! I have always thought Week 13 would be the earliest but it's still on the early side when we're talking risk of re-injury. In other words, he might show good healing by then and be able to throw just fine but they may still be concerned about what happens when he takes a hit.
Sonia V. (West Melbourne,Fla.)
Stephania I'm completely depleted at RB so need a decent trade target: non ppr: L.Bell,Tate or W/W on Rainey?
Stephania Bell (3:33 PM)
Sonia: Like Tate - and his matchups - the best.
Matthew (New Orleans)
What's the word on Joique Bell?
Stephania Bell (3:34 PM)
Matthew: Sounds like Bell not expected to miss time but has been dealing with tendinitis for several weeks. Has managed to play through it pretty well until Sunday.
Stephania Bell (3:34 PM)
Have to run. Thanks very much for joining today! See you back here on Friday.
