In Griner's book, she tells her story of dealing with being bullied in middle school, while learning to live as her true self. She speaks out on the issues of gender, self-esteem, sexuality and body image. Go here for an excerpt.

Griner has overcome a painful past to become one of the most visible female basketball players. In college, she helped Baylor to a 135-15 record, including a 40-0 junior year when the Bears won the national title.
