Chat with Buster Douglas
Welcome to SportsNation! On Friday, former undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion Buster Douglas stops by to chat as part of ESPN.com's tribute to Black History Month. He will appear on Friday Night Fights at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN2 and his new book, "Buster's Backyard Bar-b-q", hits stores April 30.
Douglas began his boxing career in 1981 with his biggest triumph coming on February 11, 1990. Twenty years ago, Buster pulled off one of the most shocking upsets in boxing history when he knocked out undefeated champion Mike Tyson. At the time, Tyson was considered to be the best boxer in the world and certainly one of the most feared heavyweight champions of all time.
Later that year, Buster made his only defense of the heavyweight title against Evander Holyfield. Douglas came into the fight weighing 241 pounds, 15 pounds heavier than in his Tyson fight. Buster was knocked out in the third round and decided to retire after the fight. Douglas finished his illustrious boxing career with a record of 38-6-1.
