Bryan Broaddus (11:30 AM)
Okay...my Mickey Mouse watch says its time to kick this off...lets go to work..
Kris Brown (Houston)
How many missed FGs before Jerry gives me or another kicker a call?
Bryan Broaddus (11:32 AM)
I worked with Jerry Jones for six yeats and if he makes a move on this kicking situation...it will most likely be during the open week.. their plan was to carry this to October and see where they are at.
Felix Jones looks slower than he did last year. Is it me or has the weight he added hurt his game and speed?
Bryan Broaddus (11:33 AM)
The lack of blocking at the point of attack has hurt Felix more than his weight gain.
Wes (The Colony)
Is there any chance Wade and Brain Dead Red get the axe if the Cows start 0-3?
Bryan Broaddus (11:35 AM)
There is no chance of that happening...Jerry just wont do it...he looks at the players and coaches at the end of the season and then makes the call.
I think Jason Garrett's play calling is coming into question. Ever since Sparano left for Miami the o-line and the offensive adjustments just haven't been the same. Agree?
Bryan Broaddus (11:36 AM)
I think that you make a great point about Tony... the offensive line was developing...he is an outstanding coach.
NFC East (Philadelphia)
After seeing two games, who do you think wins the NFC East?
Bryan Broaddus (11:38 AM)
this NFC East is wide open...I have respect for the Redskins after studying them...playing the NFC North and AFC South will make it even tougher..
Mike (Las Vegas)
When you break down the tape what are the specific positions that are really letting the Cowboys down?
Bryan Broaddus (11:39 AM)
Offensive line, fullback and safety play was poor in Bears game.
Kevin (Jax, FL)
Why does Garrett have such a tough time sticking with the run game?
Bryan Broaddus (11:40 AM)
hard to call plays when you have four guys doing their job and one guy not...running backs have struggled to find room.
Bryan, do you see Dallas exploiting the Texans left side of the offensive line like Washington did with Dallas's? Being that Houston's starting LT is out? Ware could make a HUGE impact...
Bryan Broaddus (11:41 AM)
Brown is a huge loss for this Texans front. He was outstanding against Orakpo and Freeney...this line is the best that the Cowboys have faced so far.
Is Alan Ball any better than what Hamlin was? I hate it when money makes the decision rather than the play on the field.
Bryan Broaddus (11:43 AM)
I really thought that Ball would have been better than what he has played like so far...don't think that they go back to a guy like Hamlin who was just released.
Which players, other than D Ware, are actually playing up to their talent on this team?
Bryan Broaddus (11:44 AM)
Miles Austin has been outstanding...love Doug Free...Jay Ratliff as well...
Brian (Appleton, Wi)
If you were running the Cowboys who would your coach be? Gruden? Also would you cut Davis and/or Gurode? Seem to slow to be effective consistently?
Bryan Broaddus (11:47 AM)
Jon and I worked together in Green Bay and Philadelphia...have a great deal of respect for him..he will be back in the NFL next year. They will have to upgrade next year inside, no doubt.
Andy (Carrollton, TX)
When will Red Jesus throw out the 'wildcat' and the 'smoke passes' plays? Do you agree that they produce no posituve yardage?
Bryan Broaddus (11:48 AM)
They get the least amount of production of any team that runs the Wildcat..just doesn't do it for me.
"hard to call plays when you have four guys doing their job and one guy not...running backs have struggled to find room." Did you have a specific guy in mind w/ this answer?
Bryan Broaddus (11:50 AM)
It's just not one guy...Davis has been bad, Witten has missed blocks, Gurode has struggled...its just not the same guy.
If Wade does end up getting fired, who does end up being their head coach in 2011? Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden, who else would coach such a high profile job?
Bryan Broaddus (11:52 AM)
At the end of the season, if Jones makes a change, he will look at all possibilities..but he wants to keep the 3-4 and needs to find someone to work with Romo...this guy has to be a good fit.
Scheming wise, what can the Cowboys do defensively to slow down the texans?
Bryan Broaddus (11:55 AM)
Great question...I think if the Texans get ahead and build a lead...they will try and pound the Cowboys with Foster like they did against the Colts...The Texans play action game is outstanding.
how has Allan Ball held up in the FS spot. Other than that missed tackle of Chicago's Olsen how has he been when you looked at the tape?
Bryan Broaddus (11:57 AM)
I feel like Alan Ball can play better, as can all the safeties. Sensabaugh blew a Cover 2 and Mike Hamlin didn't fight for the ball on the goal line.
Do you see the Cowboys getting any rythm going on offense this week, or will it be more of the same? Can they give Romo time to throw, i.e. block Mario Williams?
Bryan Broaddus (11:59 AM)
The Texans are a 4-3 team that likes to twist their defensive line when they pass rush. If the Cowboys can handle their pass rush, teams have made plays on them this season.
First of all, I love your work and enjoy reading/hearing your insight. Thanks.I understand you have worked with Jerry. What do you think about his work as the Cowboys' GM? Do you think this team would be more successful with another GM (recognizing that it depends on who the other GM would be)?
Bryan Broaddus (12:02 PM)
thanks for your kind words...there will never be any other person to wear that GM hat as long as the Jones family owns this team...I have seen it first hand...Jerry will accept the blame and he welcomes it because if he works, he will take the credit too.
Do you foresee getting offensive line help in the middle of the year? Logan Mankins or McNeil?
Bryan Broaddus (12:03 PM)
I really dont see the Cowboys making any deal for OL help...I will say that I see them drafting help in 2011.
I would like to state first, I am a die hard Dallas fan from Philadelphia. I have lived in Philly my whole life and get into a fight almost ever season over the rivalry. This year is making me physically sick. We have all the pieces to the puzzle but yet we still can't manage to put it together. It seems like paint by numbers to me. Do you think our biggest problems are the guys on the sideline not wearing uniforms (coaches)?
Bryan Broaddus (12:04 PM)
The coaches and the players are both really struggling so far this season...
Tony (San Marcos)
How much power does Stephen Jones have? When do you think he'll have more?
Bryan Broaddus (12:05 PM)
Stephen Jones is the voice of reason...when Jerry wants to burn the building down, Stephen is standing there with the hose..Stephen will be a great owner one day..
John (San Antonio)
Is it me or has Brooking not played up to where he was last year?
Bryan Broaddus (12:07 PM)
Brooking has already had to play a ton of snaps already this season. Need some help from Sean Lee or others...asking a lot..
Who are you more disappointed in our lackluster offense? Romo or Garrett?
Bryan Broaddus (12:10 PM)
I am disappointed in both. Romo has had some chances in the last two games to make some clutch plays...it just hasnt happened yet...Garrett needs to be better no doubt.
Bryan, give me a key on each side of the ball to winning this Sunday. Thanks.
Bryan Broaddus (12:14 PM)
Need to block this front if you are the Cowboys offense. You are going to have to throw the ball to win this game. Plays down the field can be made. On defense, assignment sound. play action, boots are a big part of this offense. Don't let Andre Johnson make big plays.
Gut check time, who wins Sunday?
Bryan Broaddus (12:15 PM)
This has the ring of the 2009 New Orleans game to me...always like the team with their backs against the wall...the Texans will get the Cowboys best game.
Mike (Frisco, TX)
Hey Bryan keep up the good work. I call you the voice of reason here in the Metroplex. Is Leonard Davis done, or is it just lack of effort and concentration?
Bryan Broaddus (12:17 PM)
They need to replace Leonard Davis...doesn't move his feet and he struggles getting on the second level. Unblocked players kill the plays.
Hey Bryan. Do you think the Cowboys can put any of Sean Lee, Jason and Leon Williams in for a few snaps a game?
Bryan Broaddus (12:18 PM)
The front office has huge hopes for Sean Lee...they need to try and get him ready for some work..Brooking as tough as he is...needs a rest.
Do you think the passing game is missing a guy like Patrick Crayton who knew the offense well and did good work in zone coverage?
Bryan Broaddus (12:20 PM)
I love Patrick...when I worked for the team, he was one of my favorite players. He had his role and was good at it.
Claudio (Pleasanton CA)
When does Dez take over the #2 Wr job and how important will his possession receiving be this coming weekend? (Will he be healthy enough as well?)
Bryan Broaddus (12:21 PM)
Dez's ribs are banged up and painful from what I have heard. He needs to lock into his assignments and be a factor on the outside...he has so much talent.
Any chance of bringing Ken Hamlin back, considering the poor Safety play?
Bryan Broaddus (12:22 PM)
I see no chance of Hamlin coming back...
Bryan, How has Roy Williams looked. He's seems to have caught most of the passes that have been thrown his way. Is he open and just not getting the ball because of protection breakdowns or Romo throwing to someone else?
Bryan Broaddus (12:25 PM)
I think that Roy has looked good. His route running has been better and doing a better job of getting open. The Texans play like the Bears with some cover 2...the receivers will need to fight thru the press.
NFC Least (New York)
How many wins to take the division this year?
Bryan Broaddus (12:27 PM)
I think that you will need to be 10-6 to win the NFC East...
Do you think Dallas is regretting passing up the chance at acquiring O.J. Atogwe given the poor play at the safety position so far this year, Bryan?
Bryan Broaddus (12:27 PM)
They don't like Atogwe...
Im confident that the cowboys front 7 can handle Arian Foster, but what will they have to do to contain Schaub and Andre Johnson?
Bryan Broaddus (12:29 PM)
This OL is very good, they play on their feet and they cut you in half in the running game. Foster is a load and he wears you down. If the Texans get ahead in this game, you will see a steady diet of him. The corners will have their hands full with Johnson.
Bryan Broaddus (12:31 PM)
I have to head to Valley Ranch now...thanks so much for all your questions...I have enjoyed my time with you..please continue to follow all my friends at ESPN Dallas.com
