Ohm (2:59 PM)
Wud up, wud up. Hope you all staying cool by the air conditioner because it's a scorcher in NJ!
Ohm (3:00 PM)
I just want to know one thing... will you all finally be able to beat Ohio State now without Tressel and Pryor? Or will the beatdown continue?
The Piston's aren't really gonna make Isiah coach, are they?
Ohm (3:02 PM)
Nick, if my man Broussard is reporting it, I would say so... it's not hard to believe. New owner, wants to rebuild Pistons, perhaps with a connection to club's past glory. I saw Laimbeer in the mix. I'd probably put Woodson as the leader perhaps. We'll see if Joe D. can make the pick or if it's the owner making the choice. My question to you is, how do people in Detroit feel about Isiah returning? One of my friends doesn't want it to happen.
Did you see South Park last night? What was up with that? Mind=blown.
Ohm (3:02 PM)
I missed it. Fill me in. I'm more of a Family Guy fan. Love me some Family Guy.
Ohm, Im hearing a lot about Sam Bradford for next season and wondered what you thought of him. I liked his game in college and am thinking of targeting him later in my upcoming draft. How close is he compared to someone like Eli Manning? Close or too young still. Oh and what's up with the 8 games rumor these days? I say all or nothing. Thanks!
Ohm (3:05 PM)
Rach, are we talking strictly fantasy? Because if so, I'd say Bradford has more upside than Manning, especially if the Rams land a quality receiver. But they should be close. I think Eli will rebound from the interceptions last season and throw less INTs. He had 31 touchdowns last season so he could come close to that or throw for a few more. Bradford, though, will likely have to pass more than Eli and I think that is what you want when you look for a fantasy QB. I would draft one of them in the later rounds like you said. As for eight-game rumor, I think let's wait and see how things shake out. Could just be a scare tactic-type thing.
Chris Fiegler (Latham,NY)
Beside Football, What will be Other Events or Other Sporting Events will be at the New Meadowlands Stadium?
Ohm (3:08 PM)
Chris, I have no idea. I don't follow what's going on at the NMS like that. I think Syracuse could start playing football games there. I know there's Hot 97's Summer Jam, which just happened I think. There's probably USA soccer matches there as well. Gotta check with their website.
Andrew (Ann Arbor)
sup ohm? i asked you before about the big ten title and you gave ohio state a fighter's chance before the pryor/tressel debacle. Are you going with sparty all the way now?
Ohm (3:09 PM)
Andrew, not going with Sparty all the way now. Still got Nebraska, Wisconsin in the mix. And I am not ruling out Ohio St. Still got talent. I'd put Nebraska as the front-runner, in my mind. MSU will contend though.
I'm convinced the owners can outlast the players if this lockout drags out too long, is there any way the players aren't the one's to cave if this goes on into the season?
Ohm (3:10 PM)
Jerry, I think someone will cave if this goes into camp. And you may be right, could be the players. But everybody loses if games are affected.
Ohm- off topic a bit but how does Deron Williams switching agents effect him staying or leaving the Nets? Are Net fans reading too much into this?
Ohm (3:12 PM)
Mike, I think I saw Iannazzone report that could be either Leon Rose or Jeff Schwartz. Either way, it's still the same, up to Deron what he wants to do. Having a high profile agent could make negotiations a bit tougher but if Deron wants to stay, he's staying. What you need to worry more about is who else the Nets can get to convince Deron to stay. I still think Deron is staying unless things fall apart with Nets. It's not going to be about the dollars. He's going to get paid big bucks no matter what. just a bit more if he stays. What matters is getting players around him.
Ohm (3:13 PM)
Ohm, was Cofield at the Bergen camp? Good sign that Kiwi is there no?
Ohm (3:14 PM)
No Barry, Chris. Definitely a good sign Kiwi is there. First, he looks good. Obviously, no contact but he is in good shape and he's working with his teammates. Secondly, he was one of the few defensive players to show. Shows just how much he wanted to be a part of any organized workout and be there with his teammates. I never really thought Kiwanuka was going to leave unless he becomes unrestricted and is offered a big deal from another team and a chance to start at DE.
Ohm (3:14 PM)
There's my answer as to whether U-M can finally beat OSU this season.
Ed (The Bronx, New York)
I read an article right when when Asomaugha left the Raiders saying that a few Giants were going to recruit him. Is this no longer the case with the addition of "The Prince"?
Ohm (3:17 PM)
Ed, I wrote that a few Giants would do that. Tuck said he would be calling Nnamdi. But with Prince, it means the Giants really don't need to go out and pursue Nnamdi. Besides, I never really felt they were going to get into a bidding war with another team for Nnamdi. They spent a ton of Antrel Rolle last year. I think with the lockout wiping out offseason activities and camps, the Giants need to bring back as many of their own vets as possible to get off to a quick start while other teams learn each other, new coordinators or new head coaches. Still would love to see Nnamdi as a Giant but kind of hard picturing the Giants going hard after him.
John(NJ) [via mobile]
Howdy Ohm. Wondering if u had any updates on the injured Giants aka SS, Barden,Seubert, O'Hara and Sintim? Anyone I missed?
Ohm (3:20 PM)
Hey John... well, hard to give an update when we haven't talked to any of the players. Shaun O'Hara says he will talk on Friday to us, and perhaps maybe there will be other players. But we have not been able to speak to the players at these workouts. Steve Smith has said recently that everything is going good and he could start running in the near future again but is taking it cautiously with the lockout going on. Barden has been at the workouts with the team but pretty much is there to be with his teammates. He is not running any routes or anything after surgery on his ankle. Seubert was there today, he too is taking it easy, hopes to be back when season starts but we'll see. O'Hara has been taking snaps at center during these workouts but they pretty much are just hiking the ball and getting into a stance with zero contact. I still expect him to be ready for the season. Sintim was there one day but I didn't see him run. He might have run but I didn't see it as I was looking at other players.
Ohm (3:21 PM)
Alright guys, thanks for the questions today. Stay cool out there my friends. Hydrate. I'll have more Giants stuff for you on Friday with the players hopefully talking and then on Sunday, I'll be at the 25th anniversary of the Giants' Super Bowl championship team and will write off that. It's a the NJ expo center I believe. Check it out!
