Jurko (1:02 PM)
Bears defense and special teams look good. Marshall and Cutler connect on some TDs. Congrats to all on a great Bears win. This Sunday night will be a whole lot tougher.

My friends say Urlacher looked slow on his INT return , I think he was looking at the blocking rather than sprinting full steam ahead what do you think?
Jurko (1:03 PM)
I think he was setting up his move on Hasselbeck. If he went full speed he would have been taken out of bounds. I initially thought what most people thought, but then reviewed it and saw the veteran was just setting up the block.
Jesse Samawi (Chicago IL)
knnowing the defense will show up, how do you think Jay and the offense match up against a fiesty Houston Texans team?
Jurko (1:07 PM)
They're feisty but they don't have Cushing. I think the Bears will find a way to score but conventionally and unconventionally.
Clint (Frankfort, IL)
How many reps does Jason Campbell get during the week? He needs to stay ready!
Jurko (1:07 PM)
Jay gets 2 for every one of Campbell's. So he gets enough to get the job done.
George (Silver cross Hospital New Lenox)
If and when the bears win the Super Bowl. Will we stop the '85 comparisons?
Jurko (1:08 PM)
If they win. And not until they win. The Packers had those comparisons forever until they won in 1996. You have to win to stop them.
What's up Good Kid? I listen to you guys every day and want to know do you think Sean Payton will stay in NO?
Jurko (1:09 PM)
Yes. Payton will stay in New Orleans. They'll talk about a contract extension in a few weeks.
Jurko-- both Conte and Wright have been solid this year, but which in your opinion is having the better season?
Jurko (1:10 PM)
Wright is having the better season. Conte has had a rough couple games, especially against Carolina which almost cost the Bears a victory.
Zerry (Columbia, SC)
When is Carimi going to get it together in pass protection?
Jurko (1:12 PM)
Carimi's knee is bothering him and I don't think he'll be right all year. I don't know if you're going to see a decent Carimi ever. The problem is that the knee is so bad I just don't know if he'll ever recover enough to be a stud lineman.
The Bears take on the Texans this week, do you believe that Texans ability to run the ball and use the play action, will ultimately be the downfall of this highly vaunted defense?
Jurko (1:13 PM)
The Texans are going to try and run as much as they can. I don't think Foster has been as effective as he has last year. Without a running game Schaub is not as good as he could be. But I don't know if it will be the downfall for the Bears.
Bears vs Texans, Who ya Got and Why?
Jurko (1:14 PM)
I've got the Bears. I think the sub-standard playing surface they play on will be a big surprise for Arian Foster. He loves to cut back in his runs but he'll have a lot of problems at Soldier Field.
Can the Bears stop or slow down JJ Watt or will it be the Clay Matthews show all over again?
Jurko (1:16 PM)
That's the question to ask. It's definitely going to take two guys. The Bears will have to put multiple bodies on him to slow him down. If it's one on one then Watt will have himself a party.
Jurko, the remaining teams on the Bears schedule are a combined 32-19 and the Packers remaining opponents are 25-18 (two games left against both the Vikings and Lions) Do you believe that the Bears will hold onto their division lead for the season or do you foresee the Packers overtaking them?
Jurko (1:17 PM)
The Bears are very formidable and I have all the confidence in the Bears keeping the lead. But they have to win the game against the Packers to do it. It's imperative.
follow up to carimi, couldnt he become what Jon Jansen was for the eagles? top notch run blocker and ok pass blocker? but i know then the bears will need to find a true LT.
Jurko (1:18 PM)
I worry about his knee becoming worse and worse over time-- it's a degenerative condition. That's my concern for your right tackle. When he gets beat he gets beat bad. He gets run over.
Jurko, I'm a Bears fan living 20 miles south of Green Bay, any advice on how to survive a grueling, knock out drag out divisional race like this without having Packer fans torment me all season?
Jurko (1:19 PM)
Plenty of spotted cow beer. New Glarus' finest.
Do you think the Texans are overrated? They have only faced on tough team the green bay, and they got blown out.
Jurko (1:20 PM)
I don't think they're overrated -- they beat the teams on their schedule. They don't have to apologize to anyone.
Ryan (Moline, IL)
How do you think the Texans will scheme to slow down Brandon Marshall? He has been unstopable lately.
Jurko (1:22 PM)
They will utilize bracket coverage when he is in the slot. When he is outside they will use the man under technique. It's more of a over the top and underneath coverage, which is supposed to discourage the QB to throw the ball to him.
Which Bears O-lineman has graded out the best this year, in your opinion? I personally think Lance Louis has played pretty well, and Rachal has been better than expected (at least in the run).
Jurko (1:23 PM)
Lance Louis is by far the best lineman on the Bears. Rachal has been better then expected since the bar was set so low. It just depends on what you expected of him.
Jake in Afghanistan [via mobile]
Hey John with the bad play of the offensive line this season, have the coaches considered doing more chip blocks using the running backs more? I know they used it against Jared Allen of the Vikings a lot and it seems to have worked against high-profile pass rushers in the past.
Jurko (1:25 PM)
They're trying everything they can. Tight ends in, running backs in, nothing seems to work. For one reason or another it all seems to break down. It's disappointing.
David Tulsa [via mobile]
Who do you believe will make it to the pro bowl this year from the Bears. Also thanks for your writing I look forward to reading these every week. Keep up the excellent work!!
Jurko (1:26 PM)
Peanut Tillman. Lance Briggs. Brandon Marshall. Robbie Gould. Julius Peppers.
holiday (NY) [via mobile]
How come the bears don't get the ball to Hester???? Minnesota devised schemes to get harvin the ball how come they don't do the same type of schemes?????? He's a play maker
Jurko (1:27 PM)
Because Harvin is a much better offensive player than Hester. Hester is a better returner, but Harvin is a better receiver. The truth might hurt, but it's still the truth.
How many touches do you think Matt Forte should have per game, on average? Hopefully more than 12....
Jurko (1:28 PM)
19 is the number. I don't want to overuse guys. Forte is a good player. I'd like to see him get about 13 rushes and 6 catches.
Jurko, Earl Bennett....where is he? Someone needs to step up opposite of Marshall. This offense has no flow or rythmn to it.
Jurko (1:29 PM)
Earl Bennett is playing opposite of Marshall as the X receiver and seems to be a fish out of water at that position. Earl is a slot receiver.
Johnny Handsome (Pawtucket)
How many nicknames do you have for yourself?
Jurko (1:31 PM)
I have 12 nicknames. An even dozen. Some I have named myself others were given to me. "Festivities" is my favorite nickname, given to me by a boy scout leader.
Andrew (San Diego )
Do u think when Alshon Jeffery comes back the bears offense will take it to next level
Jurko (1:31 PM)
It will take a few weeks for Alshon to get reacquainted but once he does, good things are going to happen.
Can we win this game without charles tillman?
Jurko (1:34 PM)
Of course they can.
Jurko (1:34 PM)
Bears find a way to win at Soldier Field. Thanks for all the questions.
