The Mets acknowledged Thursday that they had scuttled plans to work with Cougarlife.com to promote Wright's candidacy. And Wright, uncomfortable with the extra attention amid the Mets' struggles, said he asked the team to tone down its ballot push. Did the Mets go too far? Does Wright deserve to be an All-Star?

Pablo Sandoval has joined a very exclusive list. With his third home run in Game 1 of the World Series, the Giants' third baseman matched Babe Ruth, Reggie Jackson and Albert Pujols as the only men to hit three home runs in a single Series game. The player known as "Kung Fu Panda" hit homers in the first, third and fifth innings -- and the reaction came pouring in on Twitter from fellow baseball players who didn't make it to the Fall Classic.
