Dalton the problem for Bengals?
Welcome to a new type of "Bungles." While the San Diego Chargers certainly deserve credit for their 27-10 road win Sunday, it's hard to deny the Cincinnati Bengals -- and quarterback Andy Dalton -- had a hand in the upset. Dalton committed three second-half turnovers as the visitors shut Cincy out 20-0 in the final 30 minutes, dooming the Bengals to a third straight playoff exit. The previous two, both at Houston, felt a little different. This year's makes one wonder: Is Andy Dalton, even though he has never experienced a losing season in Cincinnati, the right QB for the franchise?
Colts, Chargers advance in AFC
In the AFC, wild-card weekend went just as we envisioned, with the Indianapolis Colts falling behind 38-10 and beating the Chiefs anyway, and the San Diego Chargers effectively dominating the Cincinnati Bengals in Ohio. But hey, that's what's so exciting about the NFL. Now the victors move on to the divisional round, in which Andrew Luck's comeback Colts will visit the New England Patriots, while Philip Rivers' surprising Chargers get a chance to beat the top-seeded Broncos in Denver for the second time in five weeks. How will it all go down?
Bengals contenders? Colts doomed?
The Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts entered Sunday with the same record. In the game, though, they looked worlds apart. The Bengals won 42-28 over Indy -- and it wasn't even that close; a late Colts TD pulled them to within two scores. What does this game say about these teams, both now and for their playoff future?
